Constant Nausea - side effect?

I started my WLI journey in October - and although had some side effects found them manageable and lost around a stone and a half. I took my most recent 5mg jab on the 19th december and had the normal side effects of tiredness, back ache, feeling cold etc but also started feeling really nauseaous after a couple of days, not being sick but just feeling really weird, and it still hasnt gone.

I didnt take my next jab as was worried that it would make the nausea worse, and still havent taken it - so am now going to have to go back down to 2.5mg anyway but right now i cant see myself taking it again.
I cant believe i still feel so sick all the time, if i wasnt of a certain age i would have thought i was pregnant.
Surely if this was WLI related by now it would be out of my system? Has anyone else had this awful nausea and how long did it take to go? Or is it completely unrelated to the injection?
I really didnt want to stop this mounjaro journey as its been life changing, and i have a brand new pen in the fridge waiting for me but i just feel so sick all the time and cant wait to feel normal again.
Plus is there any over the counter medication i can take to stop the feeling of nausea?? Any help or advice gratefully received!

@killamounjaro your name is witty! I have had only a tiny tad of nausea one evening and it wasn’t pleasant so to have it for days just be rough. It seems side effects can sometimes “pop up” suddenly weeks or even months in. I wonder what the medical explanation for this one is. Hopefully others will post with more experience. Maybe take a short break, then stick with 2.5 mg for a while, and slowly build up tolerance again? Are you losing weight quite fast? Maybe this is your body’s way of saying to lower dose and go more slowly?

It's a very common side effect. Ginger or travel sickness pills usually deal with it. If you are actually being sick I would talk to the pharmacist or whoever prescribed you. Feel better soon.

There's a website that lets you plot the doses of Mounjaro that you've taken so you can see the (likely) amount that's in your system. It can be helpful as a tool to visualise what's happening each week in terms of the dose.

glp1plotter.com

The move to 5mg from 2.5mg is the only time the dose doubles, and the amount in your system is therefore much higher than the 4 weeks on 2.5mg. So it's not surprising that's when people encounter side effects, often for the first time.

I've seen some people say that travel sickness tablets can help with the nausea, as can eating small amounts regularly especially plain things like crackers or similar.

Electrolytes taken with water? 🚿

I’ve read this can help (though apparently one should not overdo them.)

This is me - I too started at the beg of October and have lost similar to you all fine. I went up to 7.5 as supposed to and cor, have felt really awful since. I've had to force myself to eat proper (albeit small) meals for the sake of my own health. I've sort of worked out the nausea is worse if I miss a meal. which isn't great as its difficult to eat when feeling like that.

I am due to start the next pen up this week. I very nearly went back down to 5, but have decided to stick with 7.5 as the nausea symptoms are easing. Like you found it so disappointing compared to its start, and I can't see myself progressing beyond this dose, which is fine, if the suppression sticks too.

I did try a travel sickness pill but it completely floored me tiredness wise and i had to have a nap in the afternoon lol.

I'm quite 'pleased' it's not just me as most people can't praise it enough. Which is fine when you're winning but when its a struggle with not feeling yourself and no one else is feeling the same - you do wonder if it can be that or do you have a virus or something.

Yes I've had nausea at times but find ignoring and getting on with the day helps.
