Best MJ suppliers for maintenance

Sorry I know there is information dotted around various threads but can’t find it altogether.

I’ve been on MJ for 6 months and BMI is now at 30. I want to maintain around 27 and realistically think I’m someone that will need to take it long term.

where are things at with maintenance?

I’m currently with Zava but read somewhere they’re being pretty vague about maintenance prescriptions.

price is a factor for me.

should I swap to med express? Cloud?

I don’t particularly like the model of paying a monthly subscription to maintain (was that Ousck doing that?)

would appreciate any thoughts

Yes Oushk offer monthly plans/subscription for maintenance. I think one of them is to pay a set fee monthly to stay on their books, though they say they take the fee off as discount if you do buy from them. They also charge a £5 fee for video consultation if you want to speak to the pharmacist.

The Family Chemist, Cloud and Pharmulous support maintenance for life and there's no fee to pay either to speak to someone (although not sure if they do video consultation) or stay on maintenance. Just order as normal.

I've also heard that IQ doctor support maintenance but you'll need to confirm this.

Medexpress seems to support for only 2 years and I've seen people say they were cut off suddenly for reaching a certain bmi.

Here's a thread where posters are sharing the providers who support maintenance.

Maintenance Policy Email Cloud Pharmacy And Others | Mumsnet

Great thank you. As I’m planning to maintain at a BMI higher than 25 I guess I’m less at risk of being cut off for BMI, but am for length of time. I will compare prices for the ones you’ve mentioned.

OP posts:
IsItSomethingIAte · 29/12/2024 12:34

With that bmi, you probably have more options then as I think some other pharmacies simply go by bmi to determine how long they prescribe for and I've never seen a cutoff higher than 23. So I'd also consider a few others in that case if these ones don't work for you.

12purplepencils · 29/12/2024 12:44

The Family Chemist seems like it could be an option too. Info on their Facebook page suggests a BMI cut off of 19, and they’re a bit vague but don’t rule out staying on it permanently. They seem to have the best price for 7.5 disregarding voucher codes. (My current dose).

I obviously have a way to go as BMI is 30 but thought it might be better to swap now at a higher BMI.

I agree it's better to swap to a maintenance-friendly pharmacy and stay with them. Goodluck with the swap.

@12purplepencils @IsItSomethingIAte
Just a correction. Oushk have 3 different maintenance plans. They're not subscriptions. You only pay a fee each month if you want to stay on their books but not have a pen. The other 2 plans (basically titrate down or stay at current dose) mean you pay 15% less and no postage for each pen so cheaper than their list prices or you can opt to use one of the frequent discounts when they appear if they're bigger (there's currently a 20% off which I used instead). In reality, these 2 plans are interchangeable as you get 3 codes when you join maintenance and can use them as you wish (stay on same dose, reduce dose or go back up if gaining weight) or skip a month. You pay when you use the codes, rather than upfront. The video consultations after the first one are not compulsory (£5 non-refundable) - basically, the pharmacy just needs to know your weight isn't getting too low and you can speak to the pharmacist very easily without paying for a consultation. It's a very straightforward set-up, with lots of flexibility and support if you want it or minimum oversight if you prefer.

Med express cut you off at 2 years or bmi 23.5, I’d move away, I am moving now, and my bmi is about the same.

im looking at cloud. You want someone with good service, decent prices, and who will prescribe long term.

lots of them are now looking at maintenance,

YummyCookie · 29/12/2024 14:28

I have just moved from Med Express
to Cloud. BMI currently about 26.

Orangesandlemons77 · 29/12/2024 19:29

I thought I saw somewhere Zara are doing maintenance too now? Might be worth asking if you like them.

Orangesandlemons77 · 29/12/2024 19:29

*Zava

12purplepencils · 29/12/2024 21:42

I’ve been happy with Zava but currently feeling a bit cross with them and confused as lots of mnetters are posting codes saying they give 25% off, mine was always 15% off, so I messaged Zava asking about this (hoping they might give me a one off 25% off!) and they replied that 15% “is our standard discount amount and is the same for everyone”. So what’s going on 🤔

And I will double check but last I heard they were very vague about maintenance

Yes I would as I can't remember where I saw it mentioned and it could be wrong, please check.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/12/2024 21:56

But can't work out if the 2yrs is from when start so aug for me or 2yrs from when get to weight want

12purplepencils · 29/12/2024 22:59

Yeah I don’t like the 2 year limit; others don’t have that now so med express is out for me.

Yes that’s what I got too, and why I’m leaving them immediately. They also club all glp meds together, as per that snagit. And don’t accept mounjaro is different to wegovy. The former approved for life, the latter two years.

I also think cutting folks off hard below 23.5 is ridiculous. They should be helping them titrate down. So the message is confused, as it says hit goal reduce dose, but doesn’t seem to comprehend goal is a 23 bmi for many people.

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/12/2024 09:45

I've been approved by iq. Just got the email

Still waiting to hear about maintenance plan

Med express have come back with only 2yrs and if swap /leave they may not take you back if under 28

So thinking it's important now to stay with a supplier once get to 29/28

Hopefully more will do maintenance

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 30/12/2024 17:44

Just a point regarding the Family Chemist - I know the site says they will support maintenance (I moved to them on that basis!) but someone on reddit posted an email they’d received saying they want most people to taper down and come off.

Have a look at the mounjaromaintenanceuk sub on Reddit. The three which are currently supporting long term, flexible maintenance are Cloud, Oushk and Pharmulous. IQ seem to offer it also but aren’t quite as clear.

IsItSomethingIAte · 30/12/2024 18:11

@IReallyNeedThisToWork That's not good. I wasn't so sure of their stance after I posted and saw something similar. Have you moved now or will you continue to stay with them?

I moved to Cloud a while ago after that thread on their long term maintenance. I've also seen mention of them a lot on here and reddit and think they're really a no-fuss provider with flexible long term offers - just what I need. I was considering Pharmulous if it didn't work out with Cloud but I'm very happy with them. They're also very good and flexible with breaks inbetween jabs. That sealed it for me really.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 30/12/2024 18:38

@IsItSomethingIAte glad you are happy with Cloud 😁 I am already with Oushk as TFC took ages to approve orders and I never knew when deliveries would arrive!

I may also have just ordered a pen from Pharmulous to keep my options open 😂

SandwichPlease · 30/12/2024 18:39

Aren’t Asda doing maintenance now or am I mistaken?

IsItSomethingIAte · 30/12/2024 18:40

@IReallyNeedThisToWork
😆 Yeah like me I like to do that too! You never know with these providers. I have another backup provider but may try Pharmulous too just incase!😁

12purplepencils · 30/12/2024 18:41

Thank you for all the useful information,

I’m leaning towards Cloud. With my BMI at 30 it seems like maybe I don’t need to panic and move over just yet, and can shop around by price/discount vouchers for a few more pens.

Do we think BMI of 28 with proof of previous orders would be ok to move to Cloud?
