I have not bled for 18mths and after being on Mounjaro Injection low and behold i suddenly felt period cramps after 5 wks. Could not believe full blown 1 wk period including the dreaded cramps. It was the same as i felt every month before my period stopped and my menPause symtoms ie flushes decreased among other things. After doing some research on this its seems to b a common phenomenon for wot ever reason. Full bloods getting done in Jan will see and report back xxx

Periods can stop in obese and very skinny women, are you certain it was menopause, rather than obesity causing hormonal problems which leads to infertility,

I had been diagnosed with PCOS in 2001 but to b honest had no problem falling pregnant. Although did have 2 miscarriages in between. I got bloods done through my GP and was informed that all my symptoms were due to peri menapause so to get a period and 2 days before joked to my friend that i felt I was getting a period and then to get it was unbelievable. We all know our own bodies and actually knew although was in denial lol xxx

Yeh I always know, when I was 12 I talked to my sister about periods, we weren't open as a family talking about anything like that, only knew from school about periods and sex etc. Day after started my period first time ever.
18 months would make you think its menopause but losing fat can change hormones as fat holds oestrogen so that could've kick started it all again. I'm 43 mine have been 28 days regular on the clock, and haven't changed since. Must be worrying to suddenly change. How old are you?

Any post menopausal bleeding should be investigated and I would highly recommend seeking medical advice. It is one of the most common signs of cancer and to suggest otherwise is irresponsible.

I work in a histopathology lab in the hospital, have done the job for over 20 years and I am currently a laboratory manager. we get hundreds of post menopausal bleeding endometrial samples a month and hysterectomies. Most of it is benign and hormonal so best not to scare anyone with mentioning cancer. Yes investigations would be encouraged. Also there are many women who have posted that they taking mounjaro with changes to periods and restarting periods so it can't be a coincidence.

If you look it up only 10% of PMB leads to uterine cancer, the majority is many benign reasons as I've stated so it's not the most common cause of cancer.

If you work in a histopathology lab should know better than to post this.

of course starting a drug and having a PV bleed can be unrelated. How irresponsible to suggest otherwise. Just because most bleeding post menopause is benign does not mean not checking whether the cause of an individual case is appropriate.

Most mammograms show benign results. So should we bin them too??

I think you're the irresponsible one posting this. I never said not to get checked in fact I said the complete opposite. Stop scaring people especially before Xmas by stating that their symptoms are a common cause of cancer. It is not common, you are completely wrong and irresponsible in fact scare mongering. 20 years of nhs experience, 2 degrees including a masters, 3 professional qualifications including an RCpath dissection qualification means I know what I'm talking about. Calm yourself down already and stop gas lighting.

You should always get post menopausal bleeding checked out. You will probably be referred for a scan, if your womb lining shows up as being thickened you would be referred for a hysteroscopy. Blood tests are not done to check post menopausal bleeding.

To reassure you 90% of women who need to have a hysteroscopy have no sinister reason behind it. As the previous poster said its usually fibroids or polyps. Being overweight can also cause post menopausal bleeding according to the gynaecologist who did my hysteroscopy.

Apparently the loss of belly fat, releases a lot of oestrogen into the bloodstream, which instruct the body to release an egg, line the uterus and shed. However once this fat released oestrogen store is gone, the body settles down again.

Get it checked, but I wouldn't be concerned.
