What do you do when you reach goal?

I'm almost there. 3 lbs off my chosen goal which is 23 BMI, about 9 stone 3 lbs. It's lower than I have ever been in adult life but this goal feels right to me partly because I am in my 60s and I've shrunk in height. I was also pre diabetic and desperate not to fully develop Type 2 if possible because both my parents died of complications from Type 2 diabetes and it was sad to see.

I am currently taking my first 10 pen, 3 x doses to go.

I'm losing pretty slowly at this point, only a half pound per week maybe.

I am thinking of ordering 1 x more 10 pen.

But then what?

Can anyone point me to guidance as to what we do to stop?

I am happy to carry on with Mounjaro and have budgeted for this.

Is there guidance about how to stop and maintain? Should I spend 6 months working down? Or stop abruptly? or what?

Any help gratefully received. I've been with Zava all the way through.

I don’t know if Zava offer a titration down and maintenance programme. I’m with Oushk and they do which I’ll use when the time comes. I’d rather have the support of an experienced pharmacist to do this.
Very well done!

Thank you. Is that what you are supposed to do then? Titrate down? 10 to 7.5 to 5 to 2.5? Happy to go to Oushk if they'll accept me.

Is there any published guidance about this please?

There's no one definitive answer to that question, as an individual person. In the clinical trials people didn't titrate down, they either stopped or continued taking the highest tolerated dose until the end of the trial.

In a real world case it would depend on your individual response to the medication. If you're still losing weight and going lower than your target weight then you'd move down doses and perhaps eventually stop. Or you might need to stay on a higher dose for a while to maintain your target weight. It should be a process involving you and the prescriber.

@leli - on Oushk website they’ve got some helpful info on maintenance. @Azuresky has just had her maintenance call and written about it on the slow losers thread. Oushk do take on people who have been with other providers. I don’t think it’s necessarily about what you’re supposed to do. Lots of
factors involved including cost aren’t there? Ultimately everyone will do their own assessment of what is right for them based on lots of factors.
The evidence that has been published seems to indicate that there’s quite a risk of putting the weight back on though. For this reason I plan to sort out a proper maintenance plan when I finally get there! I can’t bear the thought of putting it all back on!
