Unexpected side effects of Mounjaro

I've always been super sensitive to coffee. If I drink it at any time after breakfast, I'm awake all night. Since starting Mounjaro I can now drink it right up to bedtime and still drop straight off. It's a lovely bonus side effects 😁

Oh that's odd! I wonder what that is?

lemonlavendar · 29/11/2024 17:26

It has made me pain free in my body. I suffered awfully before and it was debilitating. All gone.

MounjaroUser · 29/11/2024 17:28

Was that arthritic pain, @lemonlavendar ?

lemonlavendar · 29/11/2024 17:30

No, I don't think so. My whole body was in pain and felt like it was attacking me. I have long covid and this was one of the remaining symptoms. All gone! It's a miracle to me, life changing. I'm very flexible too now which I never was!

A colleague of mine can do the splits and play the bagpipes now since starting the jabs

InSpainTheRain · 29/11/2024 17:35

MJ has been amazing for me. I've lost 42 lbs, but somehow my horrible urge/habit of scratching parts of my skins (that are hidden under clothes) has gone. I used to go round each place and count them when extremely anxious, I don't understand it but I have stopped doing it completely and everything has healed up.

LivingLaVidaBabyShower · 29/11/2024 17:39

The farts is the only side effect I’ve experienced

Dear Jesus….

I can't work it out. But I like it 😁

My joints don’t ache the same either but I’ve put that down to being 54 pounds lighter, stands to reason.

loads more energy, again eating better and being four stone less.

no interest in alcohol, I’ll take that one, can’t blame that on not being fat anymore.

Thebirdsandthebeads · 29/11/2024 17:46

I've stopped snoring and that is fantastic! I've seen others say the same thing. No it wasn't just weightloss as I stopped within the first 2 weeks of MJ and I'd hardly lost anything then. I've also always snored before i became obese (some genetic thing that runs in the family) but it got worse as i gained weight. I don't know what's in it and why but I'm happy about that as I was thinking of getting a CPAP machine! Shudders

Can she do them both at the same time? That would be impressive.

🤣 She’s hopeful for that when she ups the dose.

ChubbyBubbyBoo · 29/11/2024 17:56

Gosh they should use this thread as advert on TV!

Thebirdsandthebeads · 29/11/2024 17:58

Sadly I've still got my body pains and it's actually increased a bit. I'd quite like that one to go too but we can have it all!

As well as reducing the food noise as I also have no desire for wine, and I also used to take too make codeine tablets and again have zero urge to do so.

Im also sleeping like the dead each night which is very unusual - id keep taking it even without the weightloss at this point!

healthybychristmas · 29/11/2024 18:55

I haven't had a drink since the first day I had an injection. I was drinking two or three glasses of wine every day until then. It just never crosses my mind.

Stampcee · 29/11/2024 19:13

The skin on my elbows is completely smooth 😁

backawayfatty1 · 29/11/2024 19:43

Week one, very cold BUT it's done me a favour as feeling too hot triggers my tachycardia 🤣

Sadly been the opposite for me, itching has been awful, and I now currently look like I have had a fight with a rose bush, and lost 😞
I have now cut my nails all off.

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 30/11/2024 06:06

Same as others re alcohol, I've completely lost interest in it

loverrr · 30/11/2024 07:47

@SellWell I have been really itchy but havent seen that mentioned anywhere else so didnt know if it was related.

MustBeGinOclock · 30/11/2024 08:24

I feel like my skin looks so much better, almost a glow 🤣

MustBeGinOclock · 30/11/2024 08:25

Itchy skin too..antihistamine is my best friend

HappyAsASandboy · 30/11/2024 09:21

Lost my unhealthy interest in wine. I still enjoy the odd glass, but don't have the same neeeeed for a glass while I cook the dinner which then leads to more glasses.

I guess it has made my relationship with wine a lot more "normal".
