Mounjaro and IBD

I've gone onto the websites of a few Mounjaro providers and when they ask about IBD and I tick, yes I have an IBD, they say they can't supply me with the product.

Does anyone know if this is the case for all of the providers? Or have experience of Mounjaro and IBD? My GP thought it should be okay.

Has anyone got the names of providers that don't specifically ask about IBD? Because of my job I can't lie about not having IBD as if I got found out I'd get in trouble.

They still ask about any medication you take or relevant info they should know about, so you would likely still need to be dishonest.

I'd not seen a doctor or had a prescription for 4 years before I started MJ, so it feels like more of a white lie (and I don't have a job that relies on my honesty).

I think they all now insist on notifying GP, which could catch you out too.

If you still want to try, I remember that Cloud, Pharmulous and possibly Ashcroft didn't specifically ask about IBD and used to provide you with a letter if you agreed to notify the GP yourself. (More dishonesty if you didn't pass it on.) Pharmulous now won't prescribe without GP details.

I have Ulcerative Colitis and get it from Pharmacy4U; they ask about IBD BUT as long as you’ve been in remission for the last 6 months they’ll prescribe. I declared everything and also had a letter from my consultant saying he approved it with my condition but didn’t end up needing the letter in the end.

@Blueberrymuffinsforthewin I don’t know I’m afraid. I went ahead and started Mounjaro, but I okayed it first with both my GP and my hospital IBD consultant. Neither saw an issue. And as I said in an earlier post, my gut symptoms have improved significantly since starting Mounjaro. And in fact my latest colonoscopy showed complete remission for the first time in at least a decade. (Btw not claiming Mounjaro was responsible for this but it certainly hasn’t caused problems.) So I did decline to tick the box to say I had an IBD when I ordered it (AKA lied 😬) but in the full knowledge that it was approved by medical professionals who know my medical history.

I wonder if you could get a formal ‘sign off’ as it were from your med professionals to share with a provider, and if that would allow a provider to prescribe? It probably doesn’t work like that, however.

Didn’t see your post before I replied @TriggeredNameChanger- that’s good to know!
