Anyone experienced dull back pain with mounjaro

I am on week 4 and 2.5 and in the last week after my period ended, I started experiencing a pain that was dull going from stomach but mainly back was the worst pain. It lasted hours and over the week it comes and goes everyday. I seen GPs one told me to go to a&e which all bloods came back fine ie liver and things checking for pancreatitis.

I had hoped they would’ve done a scan as the pain was so similar to gallbladder pain for me, which I was worried as had gallbladder removed this year then blocked bile duct due to complications of stones escaping. surgeon said stones can happen again without GB*

With the doctors I’ve been honest that I’m on Mounjaro and know its from trusted pharamacy. One doctor said it’s IBS, but thing with this it doesn’t relief after toilet trips and I can wake up with the pain from get go in morning. To at night even without eating anything for hours. It comes in waves daily.
The doctor today has said it if was stones I’d be going yellow so suppose I’m reassured and he said it could be mounjaro and advises to stop or live with side effects. Yet when I google mounjaro - it doesn’t come up with aches dull pain?
(stomach and back area which is the worst when it occours) also if it was mounjaro would this not have started sooner? Rather than 4th week at 2.5
just seeing if any relates

Not necessarily. Side effects can happen at anytime - it doesn't really follow a particular pattern. Also the meds build up in your system so it could follow that it got to a certain level before your body started reacting to it this way.

You could take a break and see if the issue stops. If so, then start from 2.5mg again and if it rears up again you may need to stop MJ completely for the sake of your health.

Off the top of my head the symptoms with the stomach and back area (Is it like pain in your upper abdomen that travels to your back?) do suggest pancreatitis but I'd follow your doctor's advice.

This quote is from the guidelines:

Mounjaro may cause serious side effects, including:

Inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis). Stop using Mounjaro and call your healthcare provider right away if you have severe pain in your stomach area (abdomen) that will not go away, with or without vomiting. You may feel the pain from your abdomen to your back.

Thanks, I’m hoping to god it’s just some side effect that will now go that I’ve stopped the medication (I might restart at a later time depending on how things go) but just to see what happens

hope to god not pancreatitis- my hopes are more unlikely due to gallbladder removed, no colour change or vomitting and bloods fine - well i hope,.

It can be a scary experience and I hope you'll be fine too @Laks19
