No weight loss :-(

Hi there
Just wondering if anybody else has experienced this, or if it is just my body being a freak as usual!
I have previously been on Ozempic, with initial slight success, losing under 2 stone over a year or so . I am 60 years old, 5 foot in height and currently weigh 13 stone 1 pound (I had gone down to approximately 11 stone 9 pound on Ozempic). Ozempic then stopped working and I tried a period of Victoza without benefit. My weight increased to 13 stone 5 pound while on Ozempic.
I don't eat sweet things and rarely snack; if I do it will be a low fat savoury snack such as Ringo's. I have a sachet packet of porridge made with semi skimmed milk for breakfast. For lunch I usually have a brown bread sandwich with salad and meat / cheese. In the evening I will have a ready meal, or fish in batter with peas. I do most of my cooking in an air fryer, choosing low fat options where possible.
A few months ago, I bit the bullet and decided to try Mounjaro. As I was on Ozempic, I could start on 5mg rather than 2.5mg. I was full of hope that this was going to be it and I would finally lose weight. I lost 1 pound during my month on 5mg, didn't have one single side effect. I was disappointed but not overly worried as I knew I had to give it time to get into my system. Did a month on 7.5mg, again no side effects, total weight loss for the month 2 pound (still no side effects) :-( Went up to 10mg after a month and lost a whole pound - again not one single side effect. Total weight loss 4 pound. I have now had 2 doses of 12.5mg and so far not an ounce has been lost - no side effects either.
I see all these other people losing massive amounts (people who weigh more than me, people who weigh less than me, basically anyone and everyone). Why am I not losing weight? It feels as though I must be injecting myself with water for all the good it is doing me, I am not even averaging half a pound per week loss.
I am trying to be more active, increasing my daily steps and increasing my protein intake. I am just feeling really despondent and feel like my body is working against me. I can't see me losing weight on 12.5mg for the next 2 weeks and then once I have gone up to 15mg (probably without any weight loss again), I will have nowhere to go.
Has anybody else experienced this or have any ideas what is going on? Would appreciate other peoples experiences and advice.
Thank you
C x

Put all your daily calories into 'myfitnesspal' for a week and see what they add up to.

Yes, and calculate your TDEE also.

It's crap being short. I'm 5ft 1in and only need 1100 calories a day 🤨 can you start exercising to get into a calorie deficit? Walking is free and if you do an hour a day it does burn quite a bit.

Wegovypictures · 16/11/2024 19:49

You're eating too much and the wrong foods.

Your daily food intake described is not healthy. It's not enough to not snack - process ready made porridge, bread for lunch, and batter for dinner does not a good diet make. Also sounds like only 2 portions of f/v?

Do you have a restrictive diet or are you up for making changes? Did you notice the appetite suppression on mounjaro?

I'm on 7.5 at the minute and have lost one or two pound on the journey up. I lost 4 stone on Ozempic but it stopped working so shifted to MJ. I believe the working dose is 10 so I was expecting no loss until 10 anyway. I'm similar age to you and can't lose until I drop to about 800/1000 cals. It just happens as we age, hormones etc. your diet sounds pretty calorific.

I’m a fellow shortie, and it’s a struggle for us to lose weight.

I think a lot of what we are taught about average calorie intake just don’t apply to us. We aren’t built average, so we need significantly less. For me, 1200/1400 is a maintenance intake, losing is aiming for 1000 and usually going under during the week to allow for a glass of wine or two on the weekend.

Do you know how many calories you are consuming? Don’t forget to include butter on sandwiches, or mayo/oils etc.

Do you drink tea or coffee with milk/sugar?
Do you drink 2/3 litres of water a day?
Are you consuming any ‘empty calorie’ drinks?

To make your calories go further, prioritise protein and fibre/veg.

Agree with pp that you need to adjust your diet. You can’t just rely on the medication and still eat unhealthy foods or even the same foods and expect different results. You seem to have quite a lot of highly processed foods as well so try to switch to whole foods.

you need way more protein and less carbs. I’m using nutra check and it’s very easy to log in there.
as much activity as you can, walking lots especially.
And what about sleep and stress? They can have a massive impact. If you aren’t sleeping well it’s almost impossible to lose weight. For sleep things like turning lights low 3 hours before bed, getting in to a routine of going to bed at the same time and waking up with sunrise can be helpful.

You are eating too much of the wrong foods. If you use a tracker app, it will help you sort out your portion size and food types.

KrankyKumquat · 17/11/2024 09:00

As others have said, I think the answer lies in your diet. Your diet described in your post, is pretty much what I was eating when I became obese, I didn't snack although I would include alcohol as well. And I'm 5'9''.
Spend a month really strictly counting calories and it'll give you a good idea of what you should be eating and portion sizes. I think you'll be surprised how soon you rack up calories and where you need to make changes. Bread, for example, regardless of its colour is high calorie as is cheese - you can still eat both but something else has to go. And as for ready meals...
Having said that, you may also be a non-responder. I can't physically eat this type and quantity of food on MJ - I'm just not hungry enough.
