Hi.

I'm on W3D2 of 2.5mg mounjaro and my symptoms seem to be getting worse/stronger?
Anyone else?
In the first week I have very mild symptoms of nausea, mild stomach pain, burping etc. But they seem to be getting worse.
The diarrhea is rather bad now and I feel a lot more sick.
Is this normal. I thought I might be tolerating it more by now - not getting worse.

That sounds really painful! It could be because each jab is building up in your body week to week. If you have a look at something like the shotsy app, it gives an estimate of how much you have in your system.

Mounjaro builds up in the body so your levels are higher now than when you started. Around the 4 week mark it's about at steady levels week-on-week.

Some people with bad side effects find it helpful to drop below the starting dose. They manage this by counting clicks - when you take your dose normally, you twist the pen knob to 1, and that's 60 clicks of the pen. So you could manually count 30 clicks instead for a dose of 1.25. Or 48 for 2.0, inject as normal.

It's possible because the pens were designed for insulin, and that needs a variable amount, so counting the clicks was a way for diabetics to measure out their doses. It just so happens we can do the same thing for mounjaro, although it goes against how it's prescribed.

The advice would always be to talk to your prescriber, they are the medical professional. They will be able to suggest medicines which might help your symptoms, or give you reassurance to carry on if you need. They will not be able to advise on click counting because it doesn't adhere to the dose regime from the manufacturer. I mention it here because, while you shouldn't take medical advice from randoms off the internet, this is what a lot of the randoms on here do to manage their doses.
