Today, I cried in Asda.

Tears of absolute joy. I have been on an 18 month journey on Saxenda. Started off 16st 13, size 18/20 at 5ft 2. Today I put a pair of size 10 jeans on and could hardly believe it. Not one pair, but two. And then I tried a size 10 pair of trousers on - just to be certain. There was no denying it! I've made it to a size 10! My whole adult life I've been overweight or obese. I was 16 the last time I wore a size 10 in jeans. By 18 I was a 14, and even when I've lost weight over the (many) years up and down, I've never made it below a 14 on the bottom half.

Well, on Monday I'm 40. I can finally say, I bloody smashed it out the park. I'm fit, and 40! My goal has been achieved!

Thank you Saxenda.... thank you, thank you, thank you! You have changed my life completely!

kluesme · 02/11/2024 19:14

Well done you. Have to admit I am very jealous as I can't take any of the injections as have no gallbladder. I'm the same size you were when you started and had a similar life journey it seems!

YummyCookie · 02/11/2024 19:15

I've seen lots of people posting here who are taking Mounjaro who have had their gallbladder removed. I think there may even have been a recent thread about it. I'm sure an advanced search might find some relevant posts.

I have no gallbladder and have been taking Mounjaro for 5 months now with no problems.
It's only suggested you don't take it if you have problems with your gallbladder as weight loss can increase gallstones. If you don't have a gallbladder there's nothing there to cause that problem.

kluesme · 02/11/2024 20:02

All the providers say you can't with a removed gallbladder as you have to tick it when you go through the options, maybe its a more recent thing? It was last month I tried three different ones.

ruethewhirl · 02/11/2024 20:36

That's blooming fantastic, well done!

I don't have a gallbladder and have always disclosed it in the additional information when getting my prescriptions. Never had an issue and been on MJ since June. I was with Superdrug and have switched to Oushk, both were happy to prescribe.

I know this is an older thread but what weight did you get down too?

I'm 5ft 2 and currently 11.5st down from 12.5st still got a fair bit to go but would be good to have an idea.
Clothes sizes have changed since I was last anywhere near 9st

ThisMustBeMyDream · 02/08/2025 13:49

Hi!
So I got to my target, 9st 11, then as i switched to maintenance I dropped to 9st 8 as I took my time to figure out where my maintenance was.
I was a size 8 as I hit 10st, so I'm a comfortable 8 on the bottom and a 6 on top.

Needspaceforlego · 02/08/2025 17:16

Thanks, I'd been thinking i should be aiming for about 9.5st will see how we go but good to have an idea of what size I will end up.
