Mounjaro Mistake

I started taking Mounjaro again last week, I stopped as the side effects were making me incredibly ill.

I took 2.5mg last Friday night and have accidentally just used a single dose of 5mg that I had left from last time. It's been a long week and I wasn't thinking.

Should I be worried?

No one knows you’re a dog on the internet. Reddit is like mumsnet - you don’t know the credentials of any poster but can mostly assume most people are speaking from their experience and not evil or lying. OP wanted advice not sneers.

They have a different dosing system in the USA. It is in single doses and is not suspended in the same liquid base as the multi dose kwik pens doses.

Which you would surely know if you checked out the USA Reddit.

@Bubobubo I just came across your post and wondered whether you did have any reaction/side effects from taking the old dose? I have just done the exact same thing you did, mistakenly used an old pen that I left in the drawer when I took a MJ break, and Im worried now!

Is this too old a thread to use? I too have done the same thing. Should I worry?

@KavosSky when you say you've done the same thing, do you mean you've been taking 2.5mg but have this week injected 5mg from an old pen?

If you have injected a higher dose than scheduled or an out of date pen no one knows what the side effects will be for you personally @KavosSky , yes it is possible it will be unpleasant or you might be lucky.

All you can do is wait it out, be attentive to any symptoms and if anything concerning happens contact your provider for advice and/or 111.

While waiting reflect on how you keep yourself safe and prevent this or similar happening again - such as binning pens promptly when out of in use period or get into the habit of checking and double checking pen dose, date, number of clicks etc when setting up and then again just before injecting.

You can get oral semaglutide?

@Whatwouldyoudoif it is available under the brand name Rybelus for diabetes, but not sure if licensed for weight loss, never seen any of the private providers selling it (but haven't been looking for it either)
