Ive got 3 stone to lose, I lost so much weight then put it all back on. I'm peri menopausal and finding it hard to be strict and have the energy to exercise when it seems like such an uphill battle.
Planning to do this, alongside more movement ( daily lunchtime walks etc) and then see - I'm the sort of person that once i can see the weight coming off, it spurs me on and I find it easier to stick to it.
Anyone advise for a first timer?

Eat loads of fruit. Drink loads of water.

Protein

My first stone went off easy. Now I'm not losing a lot but prob could go up a pen dose but haven't yet.

However gone from A 14/16 to a loose 12 so happy with that now trying to maintain I'm the same weight I was pre kids now so my body feels good here and I think doesn't want me too loose more so it's got a lot harder .

Good luck.

a) Take it seriously. It is a powerful drug with a long half life and causes serious issues for a few people and less serious issues for a lot of people. Read as much as you can from the manufacturer (Eli Lilly) and use a Pharmacy you trust to behave ethically and provide you with support.

b) Take it easy. Don't be in a hurry to titrate up. It can be effective at lower doses which may be easier to tolerate. More is not necessarily better.

c) Be realistic. The drug does not work on its own. It works mainly by facilitating conditions in which you can more easily maintain a calorie deficit and exercise more, and keep this up for an extended period.

d) Think ahead. There is no method of weight loss that does not have a high rate of failure over the medium to long term. Long term changes in behaviour are hard to achieve. Give yourself the best chance by using the window of opportunity created by the drug to get yourself into the best possible place in respect of nutrition, exercises, psychological well-being. If there are issues to address, tackle them now.

Good luck!

Yes that sounds like me - top end of a 14, sometimes 16 but would like to be a 10.
(A loose 12 would also be grand!)

One of the best pieces of advice I can add to the above is not to compare yourself with others! Everybody appears to respond differently to this medication so you may not lose a stone a month like some reports but you will lose if you are patient and carry on eating healthily and giving it a chance.

Good luck!

@MamaorBruh I stocked up of OTC remedies in case of side effects: omeprazole for heartburn/reflux; immodium for diarrhea; travel sickness pills (containing cyclizine) for nausea; prunes / lactulose for constipation. Luckily I have only needed the omeprazole but I felt more confident knowing that I could cope with whatever happened.

I've been on it for four months and lost a stone and a half. I've eaten out, had holidays and mini-breaks, have not sacrificed anything. Never in my adult life (I've been obese and very obese for 20 years now) have I managed to lose consistently like this, so it's a game changer. But my advice is, listen to, follow and obey your prescriber - mine is Voy, and they give you a nutritionist/coach to talk to. Also, the early doses are just to get your body used to it - things really ramped up for me at 7.5mg and I'm now on 10, about to go to 12.5. It's more than just appetite suppression. It totally changes the way you think about eating. It's not a quick fix though - it may take a couple of months to really kick in. Just don't fiddle around with doses and ignore everyone who talks about messing with the prescription. This is a serious drug and it can be life-changing. You need to drink loads of water and watch your fibre and protein (lots of both). Enjoy!

I've been drinking an actimil every morning, I normally suffer with heartburn but I've not felt sick or had heartburn, so I think the actimil has helped.
