Just wanted to share. 12 stone 6 today. No longer obese! I haven't been under 12 7 since 2012. Thank you Mounjaro 🙏🏽

Congratulations 🎉 Are you planning on staying on a maintenance dose?

TheSilkWorm · 24/10/2024 07:09

Thank you! I want to lose another stone and then aim to maintain. I am prepared to be on it forever if I have to in order to maintain the loss though.

Only licensed for two years though?

At the moment, who knows what will happen over the next 18 months :)

Mounjaro/Tirzepatide has no time limit anywhere on the license guidelines in the UK. People are using the Semaglutide information for the NHS and extrapolating the information onto Mounjaro. Some pharmacies like Oushk are also doing this to be safe but they're incorrect (So much for them knowing it all).

A few other reputable pharmacies have no such time limit according to the actual Tirzepatide guidelines. Others will probably start going the same route soon.

OP, you're fine and congratulations @TheSilkWorm Don't let anyone dampen your hope.

Congratulations- what a great achievement.

Well done, I'm delighted for you and can't wait to be in the same position 👏👏👏👏

I feel amazing! And apart from the hanging belly and face jowls that recently appeared I look fabulous!

Thank you all! Speedy de-obesing to you all too! God bless Mounjaro!

Was just coming on to share the same thing! 12.11 today, just into the overweight category down from 15st 4 at the start of the year. Such a relief. Onwards and downwards, about to switch to Oushk if I can as they seem the most useful for potential maintenance (when the time comes)

Geneticsbunny · 24/10/2024 08:28

I think it's only licensed for 2 years because it only works for 2 years and then the body sort of corrects for the change in appetite.
Well done for persisting with the mounjaro but it's also worth thinking about coming off it. Hopefully there is some good advice on this board from others who have done it and maintained weight.

KrankyKumquat · 24/10/2024 08:50

@WhyDoesItEnd @Geneticsbunny
Oushk dropped the 2 year limit ages ago. It was/is an NHS prescribing limit for weight loss use, to do with funding rather than drug efficacy.

Where is the evidence for that?

im still only just in the overweight category. Why would I think about coming off now?

Congratulations on reaching the Overweight category, really inspiring to hear other people's stories!

Jabtastic · 24/10/2024 09:31

The jowls thing worries me. I'm worried about lots of loose skin. I'm considering doing 16:8 alongside MJ so that autophagy kicks in.

Well done on your weight loss!

WeAllHaveWings · 24/10/2024 09:35

Congratulations on the milestone @TheSilkWorm !

I am no longer morbidly obese (Class III) and hoping to be obese (Class I) by Christmas!!

It's not great. But I look at photos of my face from last year and the cheekbones look better, and the double chin. The jowls are the flip side of that :(

Edited

I think Oushk was actually the first pharmacy to say they done have the two year limit and their pharmacist explained that on her live.

They also don’t have a limit on how long Wegovy can be prescribed.

Witchyandtwitchy · 24/10/2024 10:05

Congratulations…a big milestone ticked off!!
I’ve got about 8lb to go before I’m ‘only’ overweight.

WhyDoesItEnd · 24/10/2024 10:07

Some pharmacies were already doing it before Oushk. They're just not as popular or often mentioned as Oushk.

Geneticsbunny · 24/10/2024 10:22

I didn't mean now, I meant later on once you have reached your target weight.
It looks like I have misunderstood the plateau effect. I assumed that meant it had stopped working but it looks like the dosage can be altered to let people carry on. Apologies. Hope I didn't panic anyone?

Snozzlemaid · 24/10/2024 18:40

Brilliant well done.
I've just moved down to obese class I so can't wait to get to overweight.

When my GP received notification I had been prescribed Mounjaro they added 'obesity' as a medical condition to my GP record.
I can't wait until I can contact them to update them on my weight when I am no longer obese.
