Do sulphur burps have something to do with diet?

I have regular burps since starting MJ, and sometimes they can sound like a dragon is trying to escape my body. They can taste of fish oil whenever I've had my omega 3 capsules but I've never gotten a complaint of smell. I don't have the sulphur burps or eggy burps that I've seen a lot of people complain about. I'm just wondering if it has anything to do with what we eat? I don't eat eggs, beans, cheese or any dairy stuff (intolerant) but I occasionally have some full fat milk with my coffee and a handful of chocolate bites.

I know eggs and beans have high sulphuric content (I could be talking rubbish here, so feel free to correct me) so I'm thinking it could be that. Is there anyone with the sulphur burps but don't eat dairy or legumes?

This is just me trying to understand why we have constant burps and why many have the sulphur/eggy kind.

Because this medication slows digestion, food stays in the stomach longer. So yes it makes sense that food we eat affects the gas that comes back up. If you get fishy burps after a fish oil tablet... the dots can be connected, you know?

I've never had sulphur burps or any negative upward side effects. Some people report that certain sulphuric foods like eggs, fish, broccoli, cause sulphur burps. I think you do really need to record and learn what food you eat and how it affects you.

Start a food diary and record exactly what you eat and when, and also when your gastric effects are prominent. It'll help you work out what causes the effects.

I eat eggs every day and beans most days and have yet to have any sulphur burps at all (probably shouldn't say that!! 🤦‍♀️🤞🤞).

I've noticed I have been more 'burpy' in the last couple of weeks but I’m not doing anything that I haven't done in the last 4 months so 🤷‍♀️

That's interesting with your food and no sulphur burps. Thanks for sharing. Hope you've not jinxed it. 😃 I don't have any too and hope I never get it🤞. I've seen some people say theirs started much later but most seem to be within the first month on 2.5mg.

I found that cutting out fat, particularly cheese, helped with my Wegovy symptoms though I did move to MJ, which has given me none

I keep reading about sulphur burps but 11 weeks on MJ and I've not had a single one!

MJ slows your digestion right down. This means that food is more likely to sit in your stomach because it's not being processed quickly enough. As it sits there, it will ferment, releasing hydrogen sulphide aka sulphur burps. It doesn't really matter what the food is - the only real way of addressing this is eating small portions at a time so that the food 'moves along' before it has time to ferment. This also means that a lot of the restrictive eating models (eg don't eat all day then only have one big meal / eat a lot in a 4 hour window) are more likely to lead to this.
