Mounjaro jabs, how much pain did/do you experience?

Just that really. I'm contemplating trying Mounjaro but I'm a wuss about needles. sheepish laugh I do realise it's not a needle like a hypodermic but I'm still a bit nervous... how painful actually are the jabs, in general? TIA...

Zero pain. Not a thing, can't even feel it going in, doesn't sting at all.

Whoyoutakingto · 21/10/2024 17:37

Same zero pain, nothing 😊

TheShellBeach · 21/10/2024 17:39

Absolutely no pain at all.
Honestly.
The needle is tiny. You won't feel it, to the extent that you'll wonder if you've actually given yourself the first dose.

Tulip8 · 21/10/2024 17:42

Zero pain

PickleSarnie · 21/10/2024 17:43

Literally nothing. Not even a scratch.

elderflowerspritzer · 21/10/2024 17:44

It's the smallest needle in the world, you can barely even call it a needle to be honest. It's literally the width of a hair and less than a cm. You'll be fine.

BoadiceaOverall · 21/10/2024 17:51

This is sounding very encouraging... 🙂

I couldn't even feel it, I thought I'd done it wrong. It's nothing like a vaccination.

SomeonTookMyAnonymousUserName · 21/10/2024 17:54

Another one for zero pain. I honestly didn't think it was in, even though I watched it go in!

Snozzlemaid · 21/10/2024 17:59

Absolutely no pain. I just feel the end of the pen against my skin.

dcbgr · 21/10/2024 18:07

None at all. It is nothing like a regular injection (i am very phobic about needles). Push straight in and don't wiggle it around. I also do at 45 degrees rather than 90 degrees.

Bibulous · 21/10/2024 18:09

Same with me, I didn't feel a thing. I thought I'd done it wrong but it really was absolutely painless.

doodleschnoodle · 21/10/2024 18:10

I laughed when I saw the needle. It's the smallest needle I've ever seen! You don't even feel it.

Is that because it's easier to push it in at an angle? (I'm so clueless about these things. 😄)

Yep no pain, its a teeny tiny needle - as in very thin and very short. It would hurt more to draw on your skin with a pen.

TheAmazingShrinkingWoman · 21/10/2024 18:15

Can't even feel it

HansHolbein · 21/10/2024 18:19

Absolutely nothing!

BoadiceaOverall · 21/10/2024 19:12

These responses are super helpful! My main reservation, other than cost of course, was wondering if I could hack the jabs, but from the sounds of this even I could do it if I ignore the thread title I just spotted below where someone had the needle come out bent, that is 😂

SevernWonders · 21/10/2024 19:50

I'm pretty needle phobic but manage to jab myself and DH.

On the cost - have a look on the discount code thread - there are lots of people's codes which will save you money.

VioletCrawleyForever · 21/10/2024 19:52

Zero. The needle is teeny tiny

Papergirl1968 · 21/10/2024 20:34

I had to give myself daily injections following surgery last year and that’s when through trial and error I learned that a 45 degree angle was least painful.
Mounjaro don’t hurt but they have occasionally left bruises on my stomach.
It seemed a bit of a faff at first following the instructions but a few months in it takes literally seconds. You’ll quickly get the knack of sticking the needle in and holding it with your hand while using your thumb to push down on the plunger.

Ineffable23 · 21/10/2024 20:37

I have once, and only once, somehow jabbed somewhere that hurt. I took it out, put it in somewhere else and it was fine.

Every other time it's been really painless.

livingwithpmdd · 21/10/2024 21:44

I was really worried and put off my first one for days. It was completely fine, didn't hurt at all. I'm now 6 months in and I don't even think about it.

I can pm you a discount code if you are thinking of starting.

SnacklessWonder · 21/10/2024 21:45

None. Worked myself right up and didn't feel a thing.

valueyourself · 21/10/2024 22:13

If you have ever had acupuncture.. then think a thousandth of that ...

You know those finger prick things they do to get blood for a blood drop test. - they are PAINFUL to me.. I'm that much of a wuss.. Mounjaro jabs are completely painless.. unless I was looking I wouldn't even notice..
