Hi,

any issues?

I know this is an old post but just wondering where people ordered Mounjaro from if no gallbladder. I had mine removed 3 months ago. Have been refused by MedExpress which seems to be cheapest option. Others seem a lot more expensive in comparison…!

I've been using M for months and now med express are refusing it because I had my gall bladder out years ago 🙄

Can I ask where you have ordered from? MedExpress cheapest option but refused as no gallbladder!

HansHolbein · 11/04/2025 15:45

@Stars12 Asda and Cloud prescribed it to me with no issues.

That’s great. I’ve ordered it and heard it causes issues if you have had gallbladder removed.

Thank you for the reassurance 🥰

@ButterfliesnWaterfalls , the manufacturer clearly states this is not a problem but some online pharmacies still won’t prescribe for people without a gallbladder. I changed pharmacy for this reason because the pharmacy I was with had a slightly confusing form which asked if you had gallbladder issues. I said no because I don’t have one but began to hear about a lot of people who had been told that this pharmacy would no longer prescribe for them once they had found out from their GPs that they’d had their gallbladder removed. Just to warn you.

Thank you. May I ask if it’s been successful?!

HansHolbein · 11/04/2025 19:03

@Stars12 Well, I’ve lost 5st 4.5lbs/33.7kg since October Grin

Feeling great, no side effects. Best thing I ever did. I’ve got my life back and I feel free.

Good for you, it must be an incredible feeling. I’d love to feel the same way.

@star12medexpress and Asda

I order from Lloyd's.

I suffered with IBS type symptoms for years, since taking MJ they have hugely reduced!

Gallbladder removed in 2019

Did you just not disclose to MedExpress about gallbladder? I filled in the questionnaire and it wouldn’t let me continue when I said yes to gallbladder surgery 🙁

MistsofAvalon · 12/04/2025 12:12

I had my gallbladder removed last summer and I order Mounjaro from The Family Chemist. I disclosed this to them when I first ordered it.

Pumpkinforever · 12/04/2025 17:06

No problem having no gall bladder when ordering from Lloyds or Oushk. My gall bladder was removed in 2011 and I have had no issues since then and I do say that on my medication consultation forms. I am not going to lie about it being removed.

ExplodingCarrots · 12/04/2025 17:28

I had my gallbladder removed last year and i order through medexpress . I emailed them before my first order asking if I could have the jab because of the questions it asks on the consultation and I had a reply from the clinical team saying I could have the treatment and when it says on the form if I had problems with gallbladder to put 'no'. I've ordered 4 pens and had no issues .

That’s interesting. I think they have slightly changed the form and now ask if you have had surgery for any of the following, which then includes gallbladder. It then immediately says it cannot be prescribed. Maybe I’ll email them too. Thanks.

ExplodingCarrots · 13/04/2025 12:15

@Stars12 I think I emailed in January so you could be correct and this is a new thing . They'd clearly be able to see I've had it removed from my medical records . I'm not too worried as I have enough doses to last me until 21st May and I was going to jump over to a good maintenance provider like Oushk before my bmi gets to 25 and I saw down thread that oushk accept when you've had gallbladder removed .

WhineAndWine1 · 13/04/2025 12:18

@Stars12i just said no because I have no issues with my gallbladder because I don’t have one. I have never had any issues from having it removed in the last 12 years. I’m not saying you should lie and I’m not telling anyone to follow my advice.

Greatgatsby71 · 29/04/2025 16:05

I’ve only been on mounjaro two weeks and today experienced discomfort in my stomach and my gallbladder was removed few years ago. Have also felt a bit off twice.

spanieleyes · 29/04/2025 16:15

I had my gallbladder removed 8 years ago. I get my prescription from Simple Online pharmacy, no issues after informing them.

Stars12 · 01/05/2025 21:30

Thanks for all your responses! I ordered it over Easter and the pen is still sitting in my fridge because I’m too scared to do it! A friend started on 2.5 and 3 days in she was vomiting/diarrhoea/sulphur burps. It’s totally put me off! I’m gutted as I’ve about 4.5 stone to lose and I can’t see any other way. Anyone else have this happen to them or has she just been unlucky?

Greatgatsby71 · 02/05/2025 08:23

I got tummy pains during my second week, other times I just felt “off” made me feel totally exhausted. So I stopped using immediately I tried booking an apt for medical professional but nothing until end of may! I’ve been referred by my dr to get it on nhs at least that way I can have a proper discussion to see if I’m suitable, I am eligible but need to know more. I had my gallbladder removed years ago and I think mounjaro caused my liver to create too much bile and so had painful tummy pains just like a gallbladder attack!
