Feeling deflated but I know it's unwarranted.

NC.

Been on MJ for 3 weeks and lost 8lbs
Which is amazing, I know. But the first week was 6lbs of that and I imagine mostly water weight

So 1lb the week after and another 1lb the 3rd week.

First week I had AMAZING suppression and no white food noise at all

2nd week it seemed to tail off after 3/4 days.

This week it's done nothing. I just feel totally normal and peckish

I have had a gastric sleeve so that would explain a little maybe why I felt the suppression so hard at first, it was like the first few months after having my sleeve again.

I know 2.5mg isn't supposed to be a medicinal dose so I'm hoping it works better when I take 5mg but I don't know.

I just thought by the end of the first 4 weeks I might be approaching 14bs, not hovering around half that.

Apologies, I am new, but how do you make the 3.2 or 4.2 dose if it only comes in 2.5 and 5?

You count the clicks to dose. There are lots of youtube videos.

If you’re at the end of your journey are you meant to be taking it ? It’s not meant to be prescribed for under BMI of 30 but it would explain smaller losses

You can get it under A BMI of 30.

Clicks @LuckyLuchi . Full dose is 0.6 ml and 60 clicks.

To get 4.2 mg from a 5 mg pen it is:

(4.2/5) x 60 = 50 clicks

3.2 mg was my bonus dose from the 2.5 mg pen (0.76 ml, which was 3.2 mg ((0.76/0.6) x 2.5).

Soo you have posts. Huge amount of weight with the sleeve.

You are nearing the end of your journey. It would always slow down. To about a pound a week.

To lose a pound a week, you would need to have a deficit of 3500 per week. For 3.5lb a week you would need a deficit of over 11 thousand calories. To have a deficit that large you would need to be eating far under what’s healthy if your bmi is under 30.

It’s far easier to achieve that deficit when you are heavy. I have lost 21lb in 5.5 weeks. Because I started at almost 21 stone. And some of that is water weight. My BMR is about 1800 cals. That’s what my body uses staying alive. As I lose weight that goes down.

My total calories burnt a day, is about 3000 plus. Because it takes a lot to move a larger body about and I am quite active.

It won’t be 3000 when my bmi is 29.

MJ makes it easier to eat less, once you get to a therapeutic dose. Which is different for everyone. But, I assume, you already eat quite small meals etc. it’s going to make easier for you, eventually, when you get to that dose. But you still need to eat. MJ isn’t about creating a deficit so big that you are starving yourself. Weight loss journeys always slow down towards the end.

I get you being disappointed. But MJ doesn’t make the weight just disappear. It’s still about calories in vs calories out. It does things likes helps insulin resistance, gets rid of food noise etc. But the fat you lose will still be about how many calories you eat vs what you burn. And near the end of your journey that gets harder to do, in a healthy way. And taking MJ should always be about losing weight a healthy way.

Your disappointment comes from your unrealistic expectations. Which in a way is a good thing. Because it means that you are in control and can adjust your expectations.

Also, don’t compare your journey to others. That’s always going to be bothersome.

Because it happened for 3 other people I personally know...

But did all of those 3 already have a gastric sleeve too? You aren’t comparing like with like.
