& I have the jitters… (health anxiety) Is anyone who’s used/using it around to reassure me? Thanks!

@WiserOlderElf apolgies you are right!! I thought it was just the brand name but after googling have realised they’re different. Although the results seem similar, Mounjaro is slightly more expensive and the results slightly better. Hoping I will still have success with this or may change over to Mounjaro.

Also confused because your dosage sounds like MJ?

Did you buy it from a reputable pharmacy?

TimeToLoseItAll · 11/10/2024 22:14

OP, did you do a lot of research before starting this medication? Where did you get it from? If you didn't research, I suggest that you read and re-read the information concerning this drug. Besides the leaflet, just read all you can about Wegovy. Go down the rabbit hole because you don't want to make any costly mistakes.

Imjustlikeyou · 11/10/2024 22:15

@Tulip8 its 0.25. And yes I got it from simple online pharmacy. So I googled ‘Mounjaro injection’ and the first one that came up was simple online pharmacy. I’ve just gone back and looked now and it’s quite misleading actually, I could definitely have read it better but when you google Mounjaro and the first website is online pharmacy saying ‘weight loss injection £139.’ I just assumed… it’s only when you go on 2 pages to answer the survey does it say ‘wegovy’ and even then I think that could be mistaken for a brand name when it’s all new to you! Anyway… it is what it is, I haven’t ordered heroin off the black market don’t worry 😂

If you're looking to go with Mounjaro, the suggestion is the same. Do a lot of reading before you begin. It's going to help you a lot in the long run.

@TimeToLoseItAll no I ordered it totally on a whim tbh, out of desperation! I’m not a read the t&c type 😂 obviously…! I wouldn’t order anything I wasn’t sure was safe from somewhere reputable but I will definitely read slooowwwllyyy next time 🥲

This is something you're injecting into your body - I don't think "whim" and not reading the fine print is sensible. It's a huge decision. I did it all really quickly but I still read about it on multiple sources, read the leaflet carefully twice, watched multiple You Tubes, went on forums etc before making the decision.

I’m on ozempic (same med and company as wegovy but the doses start the same). The dosing schedule looks the same but it is 0.xxmg. So start at 0.25, then 0.5. I feel like instead of 0.75 it goes to 1mg for ozempic but I’m still on 0.5.

OP, do look at both ozempic and wegovy info - there are some MDs with youtube videos talking about how it works and also how to use the pen. I was sent links to a few videos by my (Canadian) pharmacy when I started.

For my ozempic pen there is a marker fir how far to turn to prime (only on a first use of the pen) then you turn to 0.25 insert, hold the button till the clicks stop and then six more counts.

check your pharmacy website for videos too if you aren’t going to read it all. And the novo nordisk site may have something.

I hope you told the truth in your answers about your health. Semaglutide is an amazing medication and helps with most health concerns but also has risks. I lost better on my first 6 weeks on 0.25 than recently, but some people take much longer.

Op, it seems very unusual for someone with health anxiety to order an injectable medication on a whim, without really knowing much about it.

Wegovy and Mounjaro are similar but very different. I ordered from Simple pharmacy and a question in the original form you fill asks if you have a preference of which one you want. You must have picked which one you wanted.

While these drugs are life changing for some of us. They aren’t to used by everyone. Not everyone is suitable. There can side effects that cause a lot of immediate problems. And some people are impacted so badly it really impacts their day to day life. Which would be horrific for someone with health anxiety.

It’s really not something that should be done on a whim, with no understanding of what you are taking.

Are you obese? Do you tend to make big decision like this on a whim?
