Ready made shake recommendations?

My mounjaro journey is going well, not fast dramatic weight loss but am happy with that.
but lately I’m conscious I’m not eating well, I just don’t fancy anything and am often not motivated to cook. I end up reaching for starchy snacks because of feeling a bit nauseous and not having proper meals as then I’m not hungry.

im worried I’m not getting vitamins and minerals. I was thinking a shake or drink would be good when I’m on the move at work.

any recommendations for ones I can just grab from the fridge and know I’m getting a balanced “meal”?

was thinking of trying huel, don’t want to faff about with powder but they do some ready made too.

I like the readymade vanilla Huel or Huel Black for that kind of things - tastes pretty good, especially if it's very cold; balanced nutritional whatsits; quite thick, but you can drink them slowly.

Seconding Huel ready to drink shakes. You can get them direct from Huel, but I'd try them singly first to see if they're any good for you - Sainsbury's sell them.

@User364837 I'm saying this with the best intentions - part of using mounjaro effectively for sustainable weightloss is also retraining your eating habits at the same time. I know you don't want to cook, but I use my Instapot for making soup. Lentil based and full of veg and chicken, I freeze into meal portions, so just microwave as needed. You can add a measure of unflavoured protein powder to a bowl of it too.

Buy an Instapot - soup in 15 mins.

@alphatoomega was going to say thing. OP, try to use your spell on meds to eat real, healthy food. It will aid weight loss and keep the weight off when you come off the meds. Good luck x

I buy UFit shakes - they have different options (higher/lower calories and protein), so depending on what you need. I really rate them and the taste is great and doesn’t give me the ick! Especially like the white chocolate and also the salted caramel. I add my espresso shot to one of them and have a protein iced latte every morning.

Op wasn't asking about soup?!

I like Huel black as well, also the Bol shakes from Waitrose. I also use Puritan but those are to be made in the blender.

Slim fast coffee latte but very cold. I really like it. The ingredients have improved a lot.

You need to shop around. I bulk buy when I see packs of 6 at around £7 but I have to hunt for them. Costco has been cheapest recently but sometimes they get heavily discounted on Amazon.

No, but the point made is still valid. Unless you change eating habits whilst taking the medication, you will end up back where you started once you stop the meds.

It's an aid to lifestyle change, that involves making sure you plan meals in advance and eat a balanced diet, even when you don't feel like it.

Thanks all
i take the point about soup etc and trying to do that too but am worried about vitamins now that I’m not over eating.
I wasn’t being healthy before but I think I did get my vitamins just because of the volume and range of stuff I was eating!

I did actually make some soup last night but it’s not realistic for me all the time so I want to make sure I’ve got some nutritious stuff to grab,

plus using these shakes eg at work during the day could actually be a good thing to carry on when trying to maintain.

So weird about the soup, as if it is morally superior to make soup and put protein powder in it!

alphatoomega · 08/10/2024 00:35

@Orangesandlemons77 Thank you for your morally superior comment. It was extremely helpful and supportive. Not.

Tittibits · 08/10/2024 01:17

Lidl do shakes with added protein 35% or 20% in chocolate flavour. Really notice the hunger if I don’t have one from the fridge for breakfast.
