Hi All,
I've noticed a distinct lack of posts from anyone at the end of their journey. This is probably that everyone is still going through their weight loss.

I'm close to the end now, I'm slim, feel healthy and look good 😁

My BMI was 31 at the start and it's now bang on 23. I have 2 x 15mgs left. One I'm going to wean down with and the other i'll keep incase it all goes pear shaped.

Med express do not seem to do maintenance plans. My strategy is:

Reduce dose down to 0
Continue to eat unprocessed/high protein
Continue my exercise/gym plan
Set myself a weight window that I am happy to be in
Weigh daily and if weight seems to be going up, to do a some intermittent fasting until it's back into my weight window. Small but consistent cycles!

Anyone thinking of going med free with me?

Congratulations on coming to the end of the journey!

I plan to go med-free when my time comes, but I reckon that would be Jan 2025 for me. :)

Just wanted to reply to your post and share with you that a lot of people are saying Oushk pharmacy has 3 different tiers of maintenance and apparently they can offer quite a bit of support as you come off it too. Maybe worth looking into it. :)

great loss! Amazing results 🙌

I would love to go med-free eventually but I want the comfort of having some assurance that I can go back on medication if needed.

my plan is to start with taper off plan with Oushk and then change to flexi for potentially 3-6 months while trying with lifestyle alone where you can order medicine again even with low bmi

from studies, people do tend to put weight back on which I’m scared about but will definitely try for a while.

@Mossyeyes I specifically emailed med express about maintenance and they told me they could prescribe for it? I'm not at that point yet but I wanted to be sure.

Mossyeyes · 03/10/2024 12:28

I think I have left it too late to go with Oushk.

@wonderingwhatsnext did medexpress give any more details about maintenance plans?

Yes, Oushk only support maintenance plans for people who have been on their meds from above 25.

I kept getting fobbed off by email until I complained. This is the answer I got from the pharmacy team.

I’m med free now and maintaining. Well. I’m two weeks tomorrow without a jab. I didn’t want to go down the jab forever more. I can maintain weight. I’d maintained at 14 stone for a long time. I just couldn’t lose consistently without feeling defeated and binging on the no go foods. 🙄.

I mainly post on the main thread and the Feb to April starters.

Going well so far. Exercise in place and I’m good at being mindful and thinking hungry or not? Not hungry. Just think I should eat. That may be an MJ legacy for a long time.

Their prescriber has mentioned that anyone under bmi of 25 can book a consultation and will be considered on case by case basis so worth a try

No they will look at people below bmi 25. Due to safeguarding, they have to be very cautious but you can book a consultation (£5 - refundable against price of first pen) and discuss in more detail. Many people under bmi 25 are doing this now and have been able to sign up to one of their plans but it's done on a case by case basis if you haven't been prescribed by them before.

Mossyeyes · 03/10/2024 12:59

That's good to know about Oushka. I like the look of their tier 3 plan.

@FlappyFish how often do you weigh now?

OP posts:
FlappyFish · 13/10/2024 12:53

Sorry @Mossyeyes I didn't see the tag. I weigh daily. I think I always will. I’ve been doing it for years and it is what stopped me creeping higher than 14. I didn’t have an issue maintaining a weight, but what would always defeat me was the time of the month. I’d lose 5lbs. Get to pre-period and get the hormonal hunger. Try to ignore and fail. Then I would gain water weight and think fuck it if I’m gaining I’m going to eat instead of being hangry.

I repeated that for years. During MJ I still had the gain sometimes, but not always. Plus the daft thing is I know it happens, yet each month it destroyed me. It is far easier now at 9 and a bit stone than thinking sod it and having the all or nothing mentality.

How are you getting on?
