Does everyone move up to 5mg?

Hi all

I'm about to take dose 3 of 2.5ml

im very happy on this.....sode effects minimal and manageable, weight loss brilliant and feels sustainable. Food noise/ cravings noise dampened and feeling very positive. Enjoying much healthier choices but still feeling hunger at mealtimes if that makes sense?

I need to order my next dose tomorrow (due in about a week) and wondered if we had to move up to 5ml or if anyone just stayed out in 2.5? I don't want to spoil my progress but equally am a "if it ain't broke" kinda lass.

I went all the way up to 15mg and have settled back down on 10mg. Everyone is different. I am insulin resistant so find it very difficult to lose weight but the higher doses made me feel absolutely wretched.

@HiThereBatFace Thanks. I was meaning with the intention of staying on 2.5mg from the start for as long as possible but paying less money, using the click method. I didn't mean to start on 5mg. I would not be so stupid. I value my health and tbh, even injecting myself with 2.5 scares me. I also realise the pens have a certain amount of time they last once opened/room temperature etc.

Sounds like you done it the right way and have got into good routine and habits, well done ! Think it is tempting to not eat, lose it quickly but think eating sensible amount and activity best way to maintain it so sure you will be great !

@qotsa oh I get you now! Sorry. Same answer for the first month but then, yes. It's obvs against prescribing protocols but it's undeniably cheaper

Taking 2 X 2.5mg a week could be better for side effects than 1 X 5mg, I think I will do this when going from 2.5 up to 5mg. I have seen people mention this has been better in terms of side effects.

I’ve stayed on 2.5 for 4 months now. My weight has plateaued so I might move up, but I’m happy at this weight so might just stop.

Pens should be discarded 30 days after first dose, so using a 5mg pen to give 2.5 doses would take it way over this.

my Second pen is 2.5 but say I wanted to up the dose if start to find 2.5 not enough how would I do that with this pen ? Heard people talk about clicks but not sure if could do that with 2.5?pen ?

You would take your dose as usual then pop on a new needle, wind to 1 again and take a second dose.

What I've just described would give you 5mg.
If you wanted less you'd do your first dose as usual then count the relevant number of clicks for the second dose.
For example, A full dose is 60 clicks so if you wanted another half dose you would wind pen around 30 clicks for the second jab. That would give you 2.5 and 1.25 so 3.75 in total.

For everyone worrying about moving up to 5..

My experience, I had full suppression on 2.5 and some side effects, constipated, felt weak, felt a bit sick sometimes etc.. but I went for it, moved up to 5 after 5 weeks of 2.5 (took bonus) . And I have to say I'm glad I did. Still got strong suppression and no other side effects yet.. possible I may be getting constipated again but I've taken some senna and some fibre drink thing so maybe that will be ok..

If you have time, have a read through a lot of the threads on here, in this section. That's what I did..

Then you order online from Asda, Zava, Med express, cloud pharmacy . There is lots more places..

You will prob have to send a pic of yourself and 1 of you standing on some scales. Then they send you the pen.

You need to have a bmi of at least 3o though.

just had my first bonus dose which in the syringe I used was just over 0.7 so assume that is around 3mg ?

Sadly that won't work, as you can only use the pen for 30 days apparently, think risk if bacteria and the medication loses its condition. .

Other wise people would get a 15 and make it last for ages! .

You can still get 5 weeks out of a 2.5 pen though and that's within 30 days..

I'm thinking of splitting the 5mg dose in two and taking it twice weekly, to avoid side effects, can anyone tell me how many clicks it would be to get half the dose? thanks

A full dose in any pen is 60 clicks.
So if you want to take half a dose this would be 30 clicks
