Should I stop now or keep going? Current pics attached

I've shared my journey a few times now and I'm approaching the end now perhaps!

Trouble is, I don't know when to stop!

I'm not particularly focussed on a specific weight or size, for me it was about improving my health as much as I could.

I started at almost 15 stone and I'm now 10 stone 2. I'm just under 5 ft 4 so my BMI is now 24.5 ish so I'm top end of normal weight

Should I go a bit further? I was planning about 9 st 7 but that feels a bit of a slog so now I'm thinking 9 stone 10 ish but again, every pound is a minor battle

What would you do? Keep fighting the good fight or start to wean off now?

And I was about a size 16 (hard to tell when you favour life in Lycra Grin) and I'm now about a size 10 - 12

You’ve done incredible. Well done you. 💕 I’d prob stop and try to maintain. How long did it take you?

Happierthaneverr · 25/09/2024 19:11

You look fab but Id keep going and get your bmi down a bit more, just for that reason alone.

LilBatFaceGal · 25/09/2024 19:12

@Heyheyitsanotherday you could be right. I'm getting quite .. bored now! I have one pen in hand and a couple of doses left in my existing pen

Started in April so it's taken almost 6 months in total to lose 4 stone 9 lbs.

Well done you! You look fab.

I guess the question I'd think of is, what will make the weight loss most likely to stick in the long term? Think about that, and then do that.

If you stop now, I'd just say, make sure you've got a great exercise programme and healthy eating approach to jump straight on, maintenance wise, that you'll stick to.

LilBatFaceGal · 25/09/2024 19:12

@Happierthaneverr and that also makes sense because I'm very close to the top end of a normal weight!

Singleandproud · 25/09/2024 19:13

How are you habits now? If you've adjusted and incorporating more exercise and better eating into your diet to keep the weight off I'd stop. If your still working on it Id keep going.

nzeire · 25/09/2024 19:14

You look fabulous!
I’ve just been on a weight loss journey, reached goal weight, then went down a few more kilos. Gone from average to really slim and I love it!
weighing every day or few days to keep an eye on it and it seems easy to maintain

SevernWonders · 25/09/2024 19:18

Wow you look amazing, well done.

IIWY I would be tempted keep going a bit to give myself a half a stone buffer to allow for the ups and downs at xmas / holidays etc - at least that is what I am hoping to do!

Thank you for posting, such an inspiration.

Mebebecat · 25/09/2024 19:18

You look great, but I will be aiming for mid range normal weight if I can, so BMI about 22. I don't want to be overweight again, so it gives me a bit more room for manoeuvre, to build in holidays, Christmas etc when I may well over eat

DollyPop100 · 25/09/2024 19:21

Well done you look great !

LilBatFaceGal · 25/09/2024 19:23

My habits are a lot better now. I'm more active and I do spin a few times a week, swim a few times a week and I'm about to start some weights - so in general, I'm more active than I was.

I've also been careful not to under eat for the past 6 months so I've stuck with 1400 calories a day, give or take and I've stuck with 2.5mg dose - although I do jab every 5 days or so. I'm hoping that by eating 'properly' for this time, it'll help when I wean myself off

LilBatFaceGal · 25/09/2024 19:28

@Mebebecat when you put it like that, it makes sense!

Thing is, it really is quite hard now. Not impossible but feels hard.

I do look at my losses over a 30 day period though and I lose between 7 and 9 lbs a month - just feels slow!

Tamsyn143 · 25/09/2024 19:28

I think you look perfect x

DollyPop100 · 25/09/2024 19:33

Well done for doing the 1400 calories I would struggle to eat that daily but trying my best to have 3 meals with protein and veg etc as exercising and important to get nutrients etc. what sort of things you been eating ? Sounds like you got into a brilliant routine

LilBatFaceGal · 25/09/2024 19:41

@DollyPop100 I'm vegan so it's quite tricky for me with regards to protein but then, I don't focus on cramming as much in as possible - that's not going to be real life after MJ for me so I just try and focus on sensible eating

A typical day is ...

Homemade peanut butter & raspberry chia jam breakfast bars with Greek yogurt

Seeded bagel with vegan feta and salad. Bag of pop chips. Some Tru Fru (don't google if you're not familiar. You'll then be familiar and become addicted like I am!)

Salted caramel protein shake

Roasted veg with pumpkin seeds and hummus

@DollyPop100 I know from previous dieting attempts that going too low on calories backfires massively in the long run when appetite roars back.

It's very difficult on MJ though I know. I've never had real suppression though so I've been lucky (unlucky?) with that

your menu sounds lovely ! How has it helped then if never had real appetite suppression as that to me is only way it can help ?

DollyPop100 · 25/09/2024 19:47

Oops too late googled it ! Yum 😋

letshavetea · 25/09/2024 19:47

@LilBatFaceGal you look fantastic. I’m just about to start my diet when my delayed prescription arrives. Like most people on here, I’ve been here before. I’m planning to go half a stone lower than I’d be happy with so I’ve got some wriggle room. I do think you look fab, so it’s what you’re happy with.

eeeeeeeee · 25/09/2024 19:47

Definitely don’t stop now. It’s only a few lbs/kg to gain before your BMI reaches overweight. Give yourself more of a buffer

StMarieforme · 25/09/2024 19:48

I have never been 15 st, am 3 inches taller than you and at 14.5st was a size 20.

This is what always confuses me!

But anyway, how do you feel?

WouldYouLikeMeToSpellThatForYou · 25/09/2024 19:58

Wow this is inspiring.
I'm the same height as you and my goal is to get to low to mid BMI so 9s5lbs, to account for a couple of lbs gain and another pregnancy in the future.

I'd carry on for a little longer but not much.

LilBatFaceGal · 25/09/2024 20:21

@DollyPop100 definitely not the only way it helps, promise! I find it quite hard to explain but I'll give it a go!

So I definitely could still eat and eat if I wanted to. But MJ has done something to my brain that puts the brakes on this... so I can eat, say, a slice of cake once in a while and enjoy it but that's enough for me. I could eat a biscuit but am happy to close up the packet. I can be half way through my meal and feel I have had sufficient and can stop. This isn't because I feel full particularly or stuffed - I just recognise I've eaten all I need to

I try and view MJ as a tool to help me make better choices and stop when I've had enough instead of powering though and stuffing my face

LilBatFaceGal · 25/09/2024 20:22

@StMarieforme weird isn't it how different we all are? I have never been a size 20, never bought anything bigger than a 16 - even more structured work trousers were always a 16.
