Thinking of trying Mounjuro

I am thinking of trying these injections,

I need to loose 3/4 stone in total ideally. I am awful at snacking and emotionally eat a lot so hoping this will cut down on my cravings for junk!

I also have heard that for some people it's calmed their brain chatter down and thus reduced their anxiety. I am sure I have undiagnosed add so this would be a benefit for me too as I have been quite overwhelmed recently.

I feel like I'm in the same boat as you. I've tried dieting for years, every diet going and feel like this is one of my remaining options. However I'm worried about what happens when you stop the injections as well as cost implications
I see a health and wellbeing coach and he's said my criteria fits for these injections I'm just scared of taking the leap

Go for it, if you are suitable why not?

The only two things that worry me are; the side effects? And what happens when you stop using them? I'm conscious that when you stop you'll pile all the weight back on and more like I've found before with friends who have done things like liter-life or whatever it was called
They are the two main concerns I think I have x

Do you mean you need to lose three quarters of a stone (in which case thus isn't suitable for you), or that you need to lose three or four stone?

SilenceInside · 21/09/2024 11:56

The side effects are generally mild, and they are counterbalanced by the risk of staying obese. The dangers of that are high enough that they outweigh the risk of any possible side effects. The majority of people using the injections will have no, or mild and manageable side effects.

Regaining weight is a risk for any weight loss approach, it's not any worse if you use injections.

I think it’s a very personal choice.

What suits you won’t suit everyone.

I am coming up to my fourth injection and haven’t had any side effects apart from being a bit constipated for a few days. But I have made sure I prioritised fibre and protein and that’s all sorted.

It’s definitely got rid of the food noise (it went completely in week 2) and it’s been amazing. I do have adhd and I feel a lot calmer and able to concentrate better.

For people worried about what happens when you come off, it’s the same as any diet or lifestyle change. If you go back to old habits, you will put the weight on.

Some people will need to stay on them. Some people will maintain when they come off, some people will regain. It’s not magic.

If you take it, eat as little as possible and do nothing to improve your habits, if you will put it back on when you stop taking it. But if you spend time creating healthy habits during the time you are in it, you have a better chance of the weight staying off.

I am not worried about gaining when I go back on as I am able to maintain my weight with my lifestyle I just had an awful year last year and completely binged and lost control tbh but I'm through that and I'm a much better place! I know I may have struggles in the future but probably not to that scale. I have already lost 12lbs from fasting 18/6 and noticed a difference in the amount I can eat but still wanting to snack lots so was thinking the injection may help this. It's 3 or 4 stone to loose.
