Do I bite the bullet and order Mounjaro?

Hi all, I have an under active thyroid (medicated now) and high blood pressure (non medicated as the docs are giving me time to lose weight and see if it has any effect). I have a BMI of 38. Tried dieting on and off for years but really struggling to maintain willpower with a very busy life and young kids. Consultant for thyroid suggested I consider Mounjaro. Up until this time I knew nothing about it but have done a bit of reading and it sounds like a miracle drug, if such a thing exists! I’ve just got to the checkout bit of Voy and chickened out!!!

what i don’t know much about are the side effects - are there any and are they common? I have read of some people feeling nauseous for first few days. But anything else?
also I read something about taking supplements along side it / what do I need to take?
is there anything else I need to be aware of before I hit the “buy” button on Voy?
needing a bit of encouragement but hoping this could be the thing I need to help me out of my weight rut!

@eeeeeeeee thanks v much for this, very helpful insight. Could I ask, what happens if the delivery is missed and the drug becomes warm for example? Does it spoil and you have to get a new batch?

@ObsidianTree so nice to know there’s someone who has had amazing results despite an under active thyroid. You’ve done brilliantly! I also have 5st to lose!

@FlappyFish wow what an amazing loss as well! Gosh I can only dream of it at this stage! How are you feeling after the weight loss? Has it changed your life and do you feel amazing?
May I ask what supplements you are taking to try and prevent hair loss?

thanks everyone for the encouragement, I think I will take the view that if I get awful side effects I will just stop, but I really do need to do something about my weight so I’m going to give it a go!

@Jabtastic im going to order mine tomorrow, please let me know if you start!

I am 4 weeks in and wish I had tried it sooner. I trued semaglutide tablets last year and they did not agree with me so assumed any injections were no good.

Decided to give it a go and so far its gone well. I got in fibre supplements but DO NOT take them until you know if you need them as I went the other way and had diarrhoea for a couple days. That and a little nausea in the beginning were my only side effects.

I'm 4 weeks in and 5kg down so far, I haven't adjusted my eating hugely although will be going low carb, this has just reduced my portions and appetite. I eat a varied diet at the moment but as I say, will be going low carb so will be good to see if that boosts weight loss.

I would prepare for side effects but you could also be fine. I decided for me it as worth a try and I could always stop if it didn't agree with me but so far it's been ideal.

As for where to buy, look on the mounjaro codes thread for money off codes if needed but consider what you want. Medexpress is cheaper, especially for first dose, they require a picture but it's very easy to do. Somewhere like Voy I believe are more expensive but offer additional support.

There is also a poster on the boards that has an amazing spreadsheet that says what the prices are for each company at each level, some people swap around to save money but if needed I could look for it to post here, I believe it came from reddit.

You’re welcome!

Well once mounjaro is used, you can store it at any temperature but the pen must be finished within 30 days.

If there is a missed delivery, I have observed posters state a mixed bag of responses. Generally the providers rely on the above & say that the medication is safe to use for 30 days even if it’s delivered warm. Some posters push back on this, if they’re not going to be able to use it immediately. If the delivery issue is due to the courier, the providers are more likely to replace it. If the delivery issue is due to the customer, the provider may be more hesitant.

I use medexpress and they use Royal Mail special next day delivery guaranteed by 9am/1pm, so I haven’t had any issues myself as I know when to expect it

I've sailed through with no side effects, and I'm the type of person that gets side effects to every basic drug. I've lost 30lb since mid June and I've noticed many other health benefits.

Op come and join us in the over 30kg/5stone to lose thread.

@Candyfluffs, don't let these things put you off - you might not have health problems now, but they will come. And it isn't true to say that we "don't know what the long-term effects are." These are VERY well researched drugs, researched for long-term side effects in diabetic patients who have been using them for many years. Yes, their use of obesity is new, but their long-term impact on the body and long-term benefit is extremely well researched.
Dieting is a struggle. This makes it not a struggle. Why struggle?

Mmm. Actually we don't much about the long term impacts of this drug on non-diabetics. We do know the risks of obesity. For those of us with significant amounts to lose, on the balance of likely risks, it looks a reasonable bet. But we have much to learn on its use specifically for obesity.

Yes, I agree about other health benefits.

I’m young and otherwise healthy - but I gained weight in a relatively short time after being slim most of my life. I was totally unprepared for the other health benefits I’ve experienced since weight loss with Mounjaro. It’s the little things that I didn’t even realise had changed after I gained weight. Since losing weight, I’m less tired when walking; my walking pace is naturally quicker; I don’t get random pins and needles in my feet anymore, bending down and stretching is generally more effortless; my skin looks better. I already feel more like myself again and I haven’t even reached my end goal yet.

Here's the spreadsheet with all the prices (all registered legit pharmacies on the sheet) if you go on the discount code thread you are sure to find a code for one of the providers - if you decide to use Zava I can pm you a code.
