Also do they all contact your doctor?

No you don't, but you must follow the guidelines really.
I use Mayfair weight loss clinic.

usernother · 16/09/2024 14:49

No to both of your questions. But the ones that ask for proof of weight are the responsible providers and that's who I'd always buy from. I'm now overweight instead of obese, and Asda are still providing me with pens.

UCConfuseMe · 16/09/2024 16:51

Yes but it makes no sense.

To be healthy the NHS says I should be under 9st.7lbs

I'm nearly 12st

Is that your starting weight?

SilenceInside · 16/09/2024 17:06

How tall/short are you?

@UCConfuseMe if you are about 2.5 stone over a healthy weight, is your BMI quite close to 30? I wonder whether if you explain your history of weight loss and evidence it if you can, then perhaps you might be able to have a discussion with a provider about whether they would prescribe to you.

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 16/09/2024 17:35

What's your BMI? In certain ethnic groups and with certain health conditions, GLP-1 medications can be prescribed with a BMI of >27.

Please don't consider lying about your health to access a drug which is not indicated as suitable for you.

UCConfuseMe · 16/09/2024 17:51

My BMI is 28.

The very top end of healthy is 10st7 but 9st7 is in the middle.
I am 12st

I used Voy because they gave me a choice as to whether to contact my GP or not. However they require pictures and id - which I think is fair, even though I'd rather not. They're one of the reputable registered ones and have discounts.

Feel free to ask if you'd like me to pm you a code link for £80/35% off. I used a discount code from a poster here myself and it made it more affordable for me.

From reading early threads and the changes I've noticed with more recent posts, I think that they are tightening up as the have to be seen as being responsible, and because of media coverage about people accessing the drug when inappropriate and then getting ill effects. I totally get your frustration when you have done so well and need a little help to get to the finish line.

Nomorethanthree73 · 18/09/2024 05:57

I used Numan, they didn't ask for a photo or tell my GP (although they do recommend that you do and I have). I was 2 stone overweight but short and with an auto-immune disease, which is so much better contolled at a lower weight (which is still in the middle of the range for my height). It has been transformational, for all sorts of reasons and my regular blood tests show a significant improvement in inflammation markers and cholesterol. I'm 6lbs away from the normal BMI range now so will have to see if they will still prescribe it then.
