If you're still using the injections then, do you plan to use it over Christmas and accept you can't have very much, or are you going to have a week off?

I'm going to keep on it. There will be other Christmases!

I plan to enjoy everything that I usually enjoy but in small quantities.

WeAllHaveWings · 10/09/2024 23:03

Haven't thought about it yet.......now thinking I can buy a smaller joint, and will brussels sprouts be too risky 💨

Summerhillsquare · 10/09/2024 23:26

Isn't the point not to eat too much? Where did we absorb the idea that we must consume to excess at Christmas?

InfoSecInTheCity · 10/09/2024 23:29

I'll probably just have smaller amounts of a few treats.

Taking MJ because of recent diabetes diagnosis, so while the weight loss is necessary and welcome, the bigger focus is on keeping sugar under control and I have a feeling my usual 'caution to the wind' approach to Xmas chocolates and desserts won't fly this year.

SilenceInside · 10/09/2024 23:49

I'll continue taking it as usual and just have very small amounts of whatever I feel like eating. At the moment the idea of
Christmas food is genuinely deeply unappealing.

It's never just Christmas Day/week, usually the whole Christmas season is an excuse to overeat for me. I want to get totally away from that and just concentrate on eating what's good for me and in small amounts so that I can continue to lose weight.

I’ll most likely still be on it, although hopefully very very very close to goal. I plan to stick with it and enjoy Christmas in a reasonable way - I don’t want to feel uncomfortably full (as I usually do); overindulge on all the foods and drinks, spend days on end in a food coma and a haze unsure what day it is. I’ll probably make healthier options, like skip alllllll the cheese and chocolates, but make a really nice roast with all the winter veg.

Tailfeather · 11/09/2024 06:34

I celt so much better on it last Christmas as I enjoyed all of the food throughout the whole festive period, but in moderation. As I felt satisfied I never felt as though I was missing out. I didn't have the usual sluggish, bloated, overeaten feeling. Oh, and the usual tins of chocolates lasted months rather than days! I still lost weight and felt more confident in dresses for Christmas parties.

HippoPortlyMouse · 11/09/2024 06:52

I'm hoping to be like Tailfeather, above. Im looking forward to eating all the usual things I enjoy, but in smaller quantities and not feeling stuffed.

It will be lovely to enjoy a chocolate without obsessing over the fact there are more in the house and dealing with the 'give me chocolate noooowwwww' brain noise.

RobinEllacotStrike · 11/09/2024 08:15

We are going to family this year. So no planning or cooking for me.

I'm looking forward to everything else about Christmas- not the focus on food.

We have a big work Christmas lunch event but the portions are so tiny if I skip the bread I will easily be able to eat it.

Totally agree with this. I'm looking forward to enjoying a small treat and for it to be only that: a small treat without the need for more.

EliLilly · 11/09/2024 14:12

I plan to carry on as normal - the odd treat that I have already may just be more of a Christmas treat that's all, portions smaller as usual etc.

This is how I want to be without Mounjaro when the time comes too.
