Using a 7.5 mg pen inject 2.5 mg ? Pretty unwell

Long story short, I had a break from MJ and had a pen in the fridge from when I stopped taking it.

I had ordered a new one but it hadn't arrived so I decided to do 20 clicks of the 7.5mg pen, to administer 2.5 mg.

The pen has not expired and I only just opened it.

Anyway I have been pretty ill. It's not the first time I've been unwell on MJ, so it could just be that.

Sulphur burps, nausea and vomiting.

I'm better today. But still weak, as I couldn't keep anything down yesterday.

Do you think it was just the usual side effects or because I used that pen and therefore it was more concentrated ?

Those are normal side effects, very frequent

I don't see any reason why 20 clicks of a 7.5mg pen is stronger than 60 clicks of a 2.5mg pen, lots of adjust our clicks according to what dose we want to administer. You said you had been unwell previously on MJ so I would assume it's your body adjusting to it again, are you drinking enough, using electrolytes, eating enough and giving yourself time to rest the day after the dose? I'm 5 months into taking MJ and still only on 4mg a week as my body just can't tolerate a higher dose! I tried 5mg and ended up visiting A&E where it made me feel so unwell, so I had to go back to the lowest dose and very very slowly titrate up, that was back at the beginning of June and as I me I'm still only on 4mg now. However I have lost just over 3 stones in that the 5 mo this of being on it so even at the lowest dose it does work ok for some of us.

Sorry for typos

It's the same side effects, how long have you been off it? I can only tolerate a low dose too. I took a week 5 bonus dose using a pen needle so I didn't know how much it was, urgh I was so unwell. Nausea and so tired I won't be using a bonus dose or attempting to increase at all if I lose consistently on 2.5. @susiedaisy1912 I'm glad you posted because I thought flip if I stop losing I won't be able to increase my dose.

Thanks for everyone's replies.

I also thought it would be fine to use the 7.5 mg pen in that way.

I went very slowly from 2.5 to 5 mg when I was taking it a few months ago. I had no issues at all last time on 2.5 and then moved to 3.75 and so on, until I got to 5. I also had no issues for a couple of weeks on 5 but then got quite unwell and had some pains and vomiting. I had it all investigated and paid a fortune to have scans done to make sure I don't have underlying issues of my pancreas or gallbladder. It turns out I'm fine so I started back up..

It really helped me. However I did find suppression lacking some weeks for no obvious reason.

Internet suggests there could be differences such as

"A more concentrated solution (2.5 mg in 0.2 mL) may result in a faster onset of action due to a quicker release of the drug into the bloodstream or tissues, depending on how it spreads or disperses. More concentrated solutions might be more irritating to tissues if injected, potentially causing discomfort. Pharmacokinetics: Depending on the drug, a more concentrated solution might reach higher peak levels more quickly, affecting its efficacy or side effects."

I use a 5mg pen to inject 3.75mg, but the different isn't as drastic as 2.5mg from a 7.5mg pen. So wouldn't have expected a difference either, but it might just be restarting has caused the issue too.

It's a possibility. The effects on my appetite were really quick. I did the injection at around 10 am and I completely forgot to eat lunch and basically wasn't hungry from a couple of hours after.

Normally it takes at least 6 hours to kick in for me.
