Would you take a weight loss drug if you only had a stone and a half to lose?

I have a stone and a half to lose to be back in a healthy weight for my height. I've lost a stone since Christmas through a mix of calorie deficit and IM. But it is hard. Do people use Wegovy etc when they only have that amount to lose? Interested!

You are expected to be ‘obese’ to be prescribed the drugs, unless you have a weight-related comorbid condition.

Bottom end of Obese to top end of the Healthy zone is around 2 stone for someone my height (168cm).

People use these drugs with 1-2 stones to lose when those 1-2 stones put them over 30 BMI, or they have other weight-related conditions like high cholesterol, haven't managed to lose any weight at all for years, after trying hard, because they are big eaters or think about food all the time. Or they've gained and lost the same stone for years and years and slowly it's creeping up. You still need to diet/track calories and macros on Wegovy/Mounjaro, the jabs just make it easier for some people to stick to it by quieting the "food noise" so you can hear your body say more clearly when you're over-eating.

However, it's expensive, it's not a quick fix, and some people do have miserable side effects. If you've managed to lose a stone since Christmas, and have one stone left to lose, I'd just keep doing what you've been doing! Sounds like you're doing brilliantly!

You're being successful the hard way, which is the way with no side effects. I wouldn't swap no side effects or unknown and possibly serious side effects, no.

No only if BMI of over 30.

No. Stone and half puts you at "Overweight" at best, not clinically "Obese".
