Quick question about protein and collagen

Does bovine collagen powder count towards your daily protein goal? The tub I've looked at says collagen 20g, protein 18g.

However, after reading about it online, some places say it doesn't count as it's not a 'complete protein'.

Help!!

I do. Like I would count almonds.

That said I am not athlete, just trying eat more protein and fibre as it helps me snack less and helps control afternoon cravings (I have PCOS). So it’s not a huge deal if my protein is out by a bit because technically it’s not a complete protein.

I suppose it depends on why you are counting your protein and your goals.

Thank you @HectorscallinHectorscalling. I don't like meat, eggs or fish and I can't tolerate milk at all so there's only so many nuts, green veg etc I can eat in a day. I'm not keen on tofu and I have to limit beans as they flare up IBS.

Bit of a nightmare really Blush.

I've bought a vegan protein powder but it's very sweet but the collagen one is apparently tasteless.

I want to avoid muscle loss and saggy skin as much as possible but I'm over 50 and disabled so not able to do much exercise wise.

There are lots of unflavoured powders out there, so you can add to a smoothie, cold drink, whatever you like really.

Caution if adding to something hot: mix the protein with a little cold water first to form a sloppyish consistency, then add. This will help prevent the protein clumping in any hot dishes, eg. soup, casserole, gravy, even your morning cuppa! Hope this help a bit.

Thank you. I'll have a look for an unflavoured one now.
