Should I try to get a prescription?
Can you get a prescription?
I'm over 30 BMI
How did you decide which type to take?
Can I just take a very low amount?
Will it still work?
Can you take it for a little while then stop?

I read up about what Mounjaro actually does, the specific name of the medicine is Tirzepatide as Mounjaro is a brand name. It's a different chemical to the one used in Ozempic/WeGovy, which is Semaglutide. They both work in similar ways, although slightly differently. For me, I found reading about the way it works in detail, and the research into it's effectiveness helped me make a decision about starting.

I have found that so far, almost a week in on the starting dose of 2.5mg (Mounjaro), that I have had no real side effects. I am finding that I am thinking a lot less about food, the urge to snack has almost entirely gone and I am feeling a lot fuller on a smaller meal. It may all be the placebo effect, but that doesn't essentially matter if it helps! I am trying to eat at regular mealtimes, even if it's a very small amount.

I've signed up with Asda, and have been very happy so far with their service.

Also, what I like about the dosage process with Mounjaro is starting off with a small (2.5mg) dose for 4 weeks before moving onto the first "therapeutic" level of 5mg. So, 5mg is the first amount that's been shown to have a weight-loss effect that's better than a placebo, but you take half that to begin with to see how your body reacts to the drug. Some people seem to find that even the 2.5mg dose has a noticeable effect, and so you can delay moving to 5mg if that's the case.

That's interesting.
I like the idea of starting really low 👍

Agreed it's interesting to find out how they all work!

I haven't had any side-effects so far and I've had three doses of the 2.5mg.

I've lost 11lb.

I'm just not hungry like I used to be.

I even walked past the sweets in the supermarket today.

Good luck with whatever you decide, OP.
