Getting the nutrients in - meal ideas

Morning,
I was hoping someone would be able to give me some advice on getting enough nutrients in. My appetite has gone, especially the first few days after jabbing, so I’m struggling to find any interest in food.
Does anyone have any suggestions for small but nutritious meals?
thanks.

Most important is protein. I make a homemade smoothie first thing with added protein powder & collagen (Dose & Co from Holland & Barret was recommended by anther MN member. I add frozen fruit, greek yog, soy milk and sometimes oats. Can never drink in one go but lasts all morning and loads of protein.

At lunch I've been eating things like cottage cheese, chicken slices, steamed asparagus, humous, boiled egg, salad (not all at once).

Avoid carbs and bread, too bulky and filling.

Dinner, last night I made beef tacos, but I didn't have the wraps so just the meat & salad etc.

I read something saying always eat the protein on your plate first.

Clear whey isolate protein drinks are great- 20g a serving have that everyday. I also take a multitude of vitamins & psyllium husk everyday.

So far so good. 16lbs down in 4 weeks. Feeling amazing.

Hope this helps.

Fab idea for a thread!

I'm not wanting to go down the supplements route unless forced to.

One trick I've been doing is adding a good dollop of hummus into any soups. And whisking a raw egg into mashed potato. Every little helps I figure.

How about the weetabix drinks?

I second the Dose & Co protein/collagen shake for breakfast. Also with shakes/smoothies the combinations are endless. I like to add flax seed, peanut or almond butter, and berries to mine - extra fiber and protein.

Some other high protein / low calorie meals I’ve been having on repeat:

  1. omelette with veggies
  2. wrap with hummus and prawns/chicken and lettuce
  3. salads (all sorts of veg combos) with grilled chicken or tuna or poached salmon or crispy tofu and some type of legumes (black beans, lentils)
  4. stir fry with chicken or tofu
  5. protein bagels with cottage cheese and turkey slices
  6. chia pudding with berries

Lentils or beans added to pretty much any dish up the protein level significantly. Tofu, egg whites, cottage cheese- also super protein rich.

Always always protein first.

For breakfast I have protein granola (the Lizzie's one is expensive but delicious) with 2% greek yoghurt, berries and a drizzle of maple syrup. Mix it all up and it goes nice and soft and easy to eat. You could also do a higher % yog for more calories.

Add anything to like to shakes as PP said. Almond butter in particular is great for calories.

For dinner I really really like the merchant gourmet pouches alongside meat/fish - really tasty and quick and loads of protein.
