Weight loss jabs

Due to over powering cravings and never feeling full, I struggle with my weight. I can diet for 3-4 weeks and then......

I am considering Semaglutide jabs (Ozempic). There is so much information out there. Different places to buy it from and varying prices.

Anyone got any useful info to share and things you think I should consider.

I don't want to end up a statistic, but I also don't want yo pay 3 times as much.

I'm the same as you I'm always hungry I used ozempic and was great I was fine and stopped my craving. Only downside was there really expensive and once you stop you put weight back on.

I was the same as you before using semaglutide, and now I feel like a regular person who is totally in control of what I eat. It cancels out the food noise, the irritating voice that tells you you NEED a packet of crisps right now 🤣

I'd recommend Mounjaro too. For me, the effects are 'softer' than with Rybelsus (pill form of weight) - less nausea, less noticeable. The main negative for the drug is the affordability.

I've started semaglutide today, bought it from my local aesthetic person
Starting on the normal 0.25 . One of my friends has been on it for 6 months and never upped her dosage and is still seeing the benefits so if the 0.25 works, I'll stick at that as better for the purse too!

Oh my goodness please buy only from a reputable pharmacy!! Dear knows what you're getting from a beauty salon - there's a reason it's cheaper! Unless they're a qualified prescriber, they are likely breaking the law too. It's a prescription only drug and should only be prescribed following a consultation with a qualified prescriber.

There's been loads in the press about dangerous drugs posing as weightloss medication and the resulting healthcare emergencies.

Please be careful ❤️

She's a nurse too, not just a randomer. I'm not that daft haha x

Snozzlemaid · 11/08/2024 13:42

I've seen pictures of 'nurses' selling a 15mg pen with hand written number of clicks for each lower dose. Instead of the correct pen for the dose and ignoring the fact the pen should be used in 30 days from first dose.
Please buy from a legitimate pharmacy.

What she's doing is illegal. Not to mention dangerous.

I'm exactly the same. A 'successful' dieter 80% of the time. The cravings become completely overwhelming and my character changes (according to DH) then I crack. That's enough to cancel out any of the benefits from sticking to a diet.

I'm a good cook, love vegetables but I've realised im a food addict. There's no emotional eating I'm just physically addicted. I love feeling stuffed, I seem to get hungrier then other people and faster. My capacity is huge, I think about food All. The. Time.

I've been on mounjaro for 14 weeks. It's wonderful. I've lost 25lb. The last time I weighed this much was before I had both my children 7 years ago. I'm looking forward to my holiday and have dug out all my old swim ware and it fits and looks great.

I need to lose another stone ideally and my current happiness is reducing my motivation so things have slowed down a bit haha. It's a game changer.

I don't know how I will deal with myself when I stop the mj in a couple of months (that's all I can afford). But if someone had told me you can be 2 stone lighter, 4 months in the future for £750 I would have snatched their arm off.

AuntieDote · 11/08/2024 15:51

I’m very much the same - just coming to the end of my first week on mounjaro and I’ve lost 6lbs but felt like a completely different person this week - no cravings, no food noise, completely in control of what I eat, how much and when. Genuinely it’s felt like a miracle.

I’ve had some side effects but they’ve been very manageable.

I got mine from Voy (I used a referral code from here and happy to share mine if you want me to message - but no worries and still recommend them if not!) and what I like about them is the level of support and coaching on offer. At first I was a bit ‘hmm there’s nothing you could tell me about dieting I don’t already know’ but the session I’ve already had was already so incredibly helpful and I feel like this is what will help me build those sustainable habits so that I don’t go back to how it was once I have to stop taking the drug. As much as it is acting quickly for me, or has done this week anyway, I’m trying very hard to avoid thinking of it as the miracle solution but rather as a tool to help me stop the noise for a bit whilst I work out what and how to eat in order to keep the weight off for good, how to fit that within my normal family and social life etc.

I’m due to inject again today and the food noise/ cravings are back a bit already presumably until after my next dose. They’re definitely dimmed and easier to ignore, but it’s a good reminder that I will have to learn to manage them without the medication eventually!

Edit - sorry just seen the date on your original post! Do let us know how you’re getting on and if you decided to take the plunge!
