Backlogs and shortages

Anotheronenamed · 21/06/2024 13:49

Is anyone else a bit nervous that demand is so high for Mounjaro?

I'm seeing tales of backlogs at the online pharmacies and possible shortages. I have only just started and I'm now worried I'll have trouble getting it at some stage. These online chemists really need to make sure they've enough for current customers before they take on thousands more.

Chemists should also be prioritising diabetic patients who actually need the medication over those who just want a lazy way to lose weight.

Oh here we go again! This is a forum for people using weight loss injections. I can only imagine it must be really exciting for you to spot a post which gives you an opportunity to start a fight.

Incorrect. But I'm not going to explain why again to someone who just likes to make up bollocks. Go back under your bridge troll

JFC! I'm starting to feel as though an IQ test should be mandatory before being allowed to use the internet....🙄

This. A hundred times this.

ObsidianTree · 21/06/2024 14:26

@Anotheronenamed so far there hasn't been any shortages.

I think sometimes the providers are inundated with orders so it takes them longer to process, but there not a stock issue.

I take for my diabetes but haven't been able to have prescription filled 12 weeks

Where is your proof that this is happening? Or do you just like to join the other fat phobic trolls that look for any opportunity to take digs at obese people?

NHS unwilling to pay for it has nothing to do with people buying it privately. Not taken from the same stock.

That's down the the NHS, not private prescriptions.

Why did you feel the need to come on this forum if you have such a contempt for the people that use it?

An hour and no reply from the troll. Obviously taken their crayons and scuttled off.

Wegovy is NOT prescribed as diabetic medication

Nobody is getting glp-1 medication for obesity in the NHS. Currently you need the follow and get to the end of the weight loss program first, which takes on average 3 years to complete including wait times. Since Wegovy was only approved for this in November last year, this obviously is not happening. Also Wegovy is weighloss medication, it is not given for diabetes.

And in fact, the supplies of mounjaro are such that the NHS has been advising drs to offer this to patients struggling to get other glp-1 medications.

So wegovy isn't a diabetes medication and mounjaro is so freely available it's suggested as an alternative.

Private prescriptions are not the problem.

Anotheronenamed · 21/06/2024 15:10

Oh blimey. Who let the trolls out?

I didn't start this thread so we could hear about your diabetes. I am talking about the pharmacies who we PAY to send our medication for obesity. It's like if we were ordering for blood pressure, depression or any other condition. It's not diabetics verses the obese. Often we are one and the same but you get your meds free so trott away and moan to someone else about your diabetes medication please. Us fatties don't have it!!

Sorry, I got carried away and didn't answer your question!

Mounjaro doesn't have any shortages at all. The NHS are being suggested to recommend this as the stocks are good and stable.

Wegovy is also fine, as far as I know!

@No3387

That's great to know. Thanks. I suppose the issue (if there is one) is probably that it's taken off so fast that certain pharmacies online can't keep up with orders. I'll put my next one in a bit early for peace of mind.

That's good! It's helping me so much I would hate to have a struggle to get it. Thank you
