Just looking for inspiration for a gift - maybe something out of the ordinary? What did you get?

I gave mine a box with a few bits in and included a pebble as we both love penguins and when penguins find their mate for life they exchange pebbles!

SlipperTripper · 13/11/2020 23:56

Two tickets to a Grand Prix - intending for him to take his best man. He bloody made me go 😫

MrsMoastyToasty · 13/11/2020 23:57

The kilt he wore when we got married. With the jacket and accessories it cost as much as my dress.

pincertoe · 14/11/2020 00:00

No gifts and we are gifty people. Never heard if gifts to each other on wedding day.

skankingpiglet · 14/11/2020 02:16

A lawn mower 😬

MrsDoctorDear · 14/11/2020 04:32

Power tools.

Stopyourhavering64 · 14/11/2020 05:25

Got a star named after him

Onedropbeat · 14/11/2020 05:49

A posh pen engraved with our wedding date

He gave me a mulberry handbag

Hydrate · 14/11/2020 05:52

Pocketwatch and chain.

SexyGiraffe · 14/11/2020 05:57

He was looking for a particular kind of tie he wanted to wear for the wedding but couldn't find it - I found it and bought it for him (it was Prada so it did feel like a gift). He bought me a necklace.

JorisBonson · 14/11/2020 07:08

A pair of socks with my face on them, and a note saying "in case you get cold feet".

He got me our first dance song on vinyl.

DaddysGirl36 · 14/11/2020 07:16

An expensive watch I said all year he couldn't have. I gave him it the night before in a box saying "Don't be late". He was very emotional.

He got me a few lovely gifts from one of my fave shops & our wedding song printed in a frame. He had to be told we were doing gifts so he felt bad his weren't expensive but they were thoughtful which is what matters. I loved them

Mumdiva99 · 14/11/2020 07:20

No gifts. We'd just spent money on a wedding...

Coffeesnob11 · 14/11/2020 07:21

Some personalised rayban sunnies for him.

lightlypoached · 14/11/2020 07:47

I gave him a surprise photo shoot at the railway station on the first day of our honeymoon, on the way to Paris in our wedding clothes. The most beautiful iconic railway kissing shot pictured, framed.

He gave me an iPad. I loved that iPad.

Phwooooar · 14/11/2020 07:58

Wow what lovely thoughts/gifts! I love some of these ideas. What a romantic lot you are!

In the 5 years we’ve been together I’ve bought all the usual gifts or things that mark a memorable event in our relationship so I’m finding this hard and running out of time. I just know he’s the type to get me something - but women are so much easier to find things for.

Keep the ideas coming please!

The wedding and honeymoon cost a fortune, why would we buy each other a present too !!

anxiiousone · 14/11/2020 08:25

I turned up at the church 😂

carolinesbaby · 14/11/2020 09:59

My husband bought me a Swiss Army knife. Best thing ever and have used it every week for 14 years.

mpsw · 14/11/2020 10:05

A sword

snowstorm2012 · 14/11/2020 10:05

@CherryPavlova

He got me. That was sufficient.
Ditto
Redkatagain · 14/11/2020 12:34

The ring on his finger

MenaiMna · 14/11/2020 12:42

I thought giving him a wedding ring was enough (that and the privilege of being married to me).

Echobelly · 14/11/2020 16:10

@Phwooooar - it's a plastic case to keep bananas in and stop them getting squashed. Grin

Beetlebum1981 · 14/11/2020 16:18

I gave DH a bottle of nice whisky - he gave me bugger all 🤣🙄
