Just looking for inspiration for a gift - maybe something out of the ordinary? What did you get?

My husband bought me a beautiful dressing table.... I bought him a bananaguard Grin

Was a bit of a joke between us and he took it well

Phwooooar · 13/11/2020 22:35

@Echobelly what on earth is a bananaguard?

We went traditional though we didn’t discuss it in advance. Engraved skeleton pocket watch for him and a pearl bracelet for me.

mynameiscalypso · 13/11/2020 22:38

I made sure there was enough booze in the fridge for when he got ready in the morning.

inappropriateraspberry · 13/11/2020 22:39

He got me! Didn't know it was a thing to buy each other presents.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 13/11/2020 22:39

I bought him a painting of the place he proposed to me.

andadietcoke · 13/11/2020 22:39

Monopoly used to do bespoke Monopoly boards so I bought him one of those. He bought me a Louis Vuitton purse which I'm still using 15 years later.

2tired2bewitty · 13/11/2020 22:40

I bought him a copy of the book he claimed he’d read when we first met Grin

MiddleClassProblem · 13/11/2020 22:40

We bought each other games consoles that had just gone out (2 different types).

mnahmnah · 13/11/2020 22:40

A boudoir photo shoot. I think I like looking at it more than him now, reminding myself of my pre-baby body Grin

swashbucklecheer · 13/11/2020 22:40

I got him a key cut for my house!

CorpusCallosum · 13/11/2020 22:46

I got him a Le Creuset pan and wrote a note saying it was like our marriage; it'll last a lifetime, we'd use it every day and have to look after it - written more beautifully than that though! It went down well and it has turned out that way 😊

But, I surprised him about 2 weeks before the wedding mentioning that I'd got his present and he was like 'that's a thing!?' I got a hastily bought book of Love poetry, sweet but now dusty 🙄

AriesTheRam · 13/11/2020 22:46

I was the gift Grin

Ellovera2 · 13/11/2020 22:49

I gave him a tie clip. Handmade and engraved... Spent ages designing it, took weeks to come.
He lost it on the dance floor a few hours later 😂

feministbias · 13/11/2020 22:52

Gucci watch

M0mmyneedswine · 13/11/2020 23:02

Veryverycalmnow · 13/11/2020 23:18

He bought me a gift, I didn't get him one (I think I genuinely forgot)... i have never lived it down. Make sure it's something memorable!!

Notgoingonholiday · 13/11/2020 23:20

Just informing DH we are owed presents from each otherGrin.

MaverickDanger · 13/11/2020 23:25

We didn’t do anything, but I did buy him a pair of Bristol blue glass cuff links (we were living in Bristol at the time) and that was our “something blue”.

Pipandmum · 13/11/2020 23:28

Gifts? My husband paid for most of the wedding and all of the honeymoon, so never expected a gift on top! I didn't give him anything either.

CherryPavlova · 13/11/2020 23:29

He got me. That was sufficient.

DramaAlpaca · 13/11/2020 23:30

We gave each other nice watches.

Defender90 · 13/11/2020 23:31

Route 66.

Suggested we started in Vegas and got married while there. Then did the Route.
