First wedding paid £500 for an outfit in Harvey Nicks and £80 for some material to make a kind of coat thing myself.

Second wedding £600 from a local dressmaker, including the material which was utterly gorgeous - silk satin underdress, embroidered silk gauze overdress. Having a dress made to fit was a fantastic experience.

I couldn't afford my dress at RRP (£1500) but found it going in a sample sale in a bridal salon 3 sizes too big for £700, so bought it and then paid an extra £100 for a seamstress to take it in to fit my body perfectly 😊 As others have said OP you can easily get one for under £100- ASOS do a bridal range or like some of my friends have spend £2000-2500 on one! There's loads of options.

Wed2be sell lots of styles and the top price is £800. I got my Benjamin Roberts dress (RRP £1200) for £199 in a bridal sale and it fits perfectly apart from the bust. Will need altering but such a bargain!

Shop around but still book a bridal appointment (or 2,3..) it gives you a good idea what suits you shape wise and an idea of size (bridal is tiny!)

Good luck and have fun!!

Mine was £160 from monsoon (going back a few years mind). It was ivory, raw silk and imho as lovely as many more expensive dresses.
I would never have spent thousands on something I was going to wear once. I had a very limited budget, so chose to spend on wedding rings, which we would be wearing every day for the rest of our lives (hopefully).

How long is a piece of string? My dress cost €550, I think that's considered on the cheaper side.

Mine was £95 in a half price sale, it's not a traditional wedding dress but something I can wear again as it fits the theme of the day.

Mine is £1450 for an eddy k dress. Needs altering at sleeves and bust and taken up a bit, it's discontinued now and I love it. Wedding next year.

Mine was £1495, wedding later this year. Pretty lucky really as I'd had £1500 in my head as my budget before shopping and had already fallen in love with it before I found out the price!

I think you can definitely find beautiful wedding dresses with any budget, it all depends on what you want to spend.

Mine was £630 reduced from £1500. Sample sales are the best!

I would highly recommend looking up sample sales in your area and going along and trying on a few things.

Don't spend above your budget - wedding dresses are hard to sell on and you may regret it.

As a pp said Maggie sottero dresses are amazing quality. They range from about £1,100-£2,000. I remember seeing some dresses for about £800 that looked like cream prom dresses, crappy, flimsy and horrible shiny material. It infuriated me that they would sell dresses like that for that much because they can call it a wedding dress....but I thought that the Maggie sottero ones looked so beautiful for a few hundred pounds more. Plus you can sell them really easily too if you want. There are some really good second hand ones going also. Have fun! Grin

Forgot to add if you're not looking to spend much you can get some amazing high street dresses. I saw a beautiful dress in coast the other day. I just found that between high street and £1,000 plus dresses it was weirdly expensive for not a lot. I'd rather go high street or expensive, not the ones in between.

Mine was £300 from a bridal sale shop, I then had to spend another £300 getting it altered to fit me!
SIL got an absolute bargain - £150 made to measure from china. Thought it would be hideous but it was lovely, and afterwards my mum washed it (in the washing machine!) and sold it on Facebook for the price she paid for it.

I picked a gorgeous dress, pettycoat and accessories from Vivien of Holloway for about £160 all in.
