Thought I'd kick off a bright and shiny weather thread to see us through the second half of the winter. Albeit a winter with daffodils and blossom .

All I can say is that I've just been down to the bins and it seems chiller than it has been >

Hooray! I am so ready for some seasonal weather. Although I'm quite sure that Manchester will retain its crown as the snow free capital of the UK...

I just need no snow next Friday please - very important appt to go to. Then it can snow buckets!

Its my birthday next sat 16th, please, please let it snow

Cold next week is OK ~ DD1's off to Poland the week after (A-level History trip) so it'll give her a chance to acclimatise to Polish temperatures
Buckets of snow next weekend also good (especially for leesmum's birthday!) but it needs to clear up by mid-week (20th) when DD's due to fly out and 23rd, when she's due back.
If all that could be sorted, that be grand!

Am also wondering if the huge methane leak from the Californian storage facility has contributed to the unseasonably warm winter so far. It's been leaking since October.

GFS cancels the cold in the latest model run after next weekend - brings mild air back into things. Also little sigh of any snow for the coming week, with the exception of Scottish hills.

Which part Not?

Got slightly bored of the frost trying to open my car door and defrost the inside as well as the outside.
Still cold with frost and frozen ground, clouding up and some sleet/snow forecast for later for Edinburgh

We're only forecast rain but because there was a forecast of snow I'm still looking out if the window every five minutes in the hope I might see a flake or two.

Met check is agreeing with you OYBBK. Its suggesting we should look to the very end of January for our cold snap
