OYBBK - the bit about the 3 day confidence interval was ambiguously written - it could also mean any time from 18th-25th.

And a 1.7 ton heat resistant telescope does sound rather concerning!

(BTW - did anyone ever find any debris from the last one? Or was it written off as lost at sea / in Canada?)

It orbits up to 53 degrees north. That covers all of Wales, most of England, and most of Ireland.

Am on holiday in a static caravan near Sidmouth and feeling a little vulnerable to falling space debris as didn't pack my hardhat. I have started to dig underneath the caravan for protection and put lots of wine essential supplies there ready for if it looks like it's heading our way!

I'm here, I have Sancerre (well ocado are delivering some tomorrow) and Brie. Whose cellar are we hiding in and does everyone have bins and straws?

You can't drink wine through a piece of hay but I'm sure the hay will come in useful for something.

Funnily enough while driving to school on Wednesday at 8am I saw something that looked like a large mirror (a big silver circle in the sky) with a white trail behind it - it came down fast then appeared to slow as it hit the upper atmosphere. I have no idea if it was a bit of space junk or what but the DC and a few of their friends saw it - it looked very big. Much bigger than a falling star. Was quite irksome to be frank. We lost sight of it after half an hour when it went behind the clouds.

Very strange wmmc. I have no idea what that would be! rosat orbits the earth every 90 mins, so it wouldnt be that. Most strange!

Aren't most UFOs meteorological balloons?

I did wonder about that (some at night are chinese lanterns) but the description just doesnt seem to quite fit.

Grrrr I am out in London getting pissed for my birthday celebrations - stay away from Clapham bits of satellite, I'm warning you!!
