OP posts:
EachPeachPearMum · 29/09/2008 22:41

The 'report abuse' button they have on there.... could we click it for 'JadieJade' and report the abuse on her lo???
6 weeks? FFS

EachPeachPearMum · 29/09/2008 22:49

Also this made me laugh -
"My ds is 12 weeks and I cannot get him tom drink more than 5 oz although I make 6 in his bottle but he seems hungry again after just a few hours. "

erm, yes- 12 week old babies do actually NEED to feed every few hours!

LaVie · 29/09/2008 23:01

I loved it when ds had growth spurts! Meant I could just sit on my arse and bf him all day! To much faff to start giving him bloody solids!

AnarchyAunt · 30/09/2008 08:03

I can't bear it, I really can't. Its like talking to a brick bloody wall.

After having the risks and the lack of knowledge of doctors/HVs explained (ooh, three times?) one of them is still saying "yes but I spoke to a health nurse who said I was paranoid... has anyone been told any different that I can look up?"

Aaaaarrrrggghhhh.

Aitch · 30/09/2008 11:45

have just read the latest. those people are so fucking stupid it's unbelievable. do i meet these people in RL? i tend to assume that strangers i meet have a certain intelligence... am i wrong? are these morons a more representative sample of british womanhood than MN provides?

AnarchyAunt · 30/09/2008 12:04

Um. I hope not.

I never meet them either. Well I have met a couple actually but have always thought, "Oh god what a crazylady, I'm glad everyone else I know has more sense".

I sort of know its pointless to keep on trying but, but, but...

LaVie · 30/09/2008 12:21

I know a woman at a baby group I go to who has been feeding her dd mini hotdogs and chips since she was about 6 months old. Not for every meal obviously but still

She offered ds a hotdog once but I just said ooh no thanks, i don't think he'd like that.

cmotdibbler · 30/09/2008 12:22

Being ill at the moment, I'm confined to the sofa with the laptop, and being bored I had a look at the Babycentre birth boards. Theres women with JULY babies ffs who are giving them solids.

I have a friend who did the whole AK thing at 4 months (maybe less as baby was born December and when we went away in April she was on solids, 3 meals a day), and this intelligent, well educated woman was doing the whole 'she's a big girl, couldn't wait blah de blah'. At nearly 3, this child is obese and an incredibly fussy eater..

AnarchyAunt · 30/09/2008 12:24

At least it was after six months!

I met someone once with a baby born at 32 weeks, who had her on three jars a day by 9 weeks old. And value chocolate mousse for afters.

Her dd is now 6 and has multiple allergies, asthma, and eczema. But there is no connection made in the woman's mind...

VictorianSqualor · 30/09/2008 12:47

Well, I've just sat here and answered every post.
Gosh aren't I so horrible

Aitch, sadly you probably do. I know I have met them.

AnarchyAunt · 30/09/2008 12:53

Ooooh that was brilliant VS!

I suspect you will not be thanked for it.

Aitch · 30/09/2008 13:10

i am now a fully grown snob about bounty and its denizens. how can people be so brainless?
i want to just post 'you are all so moronic'.

and they have a 'debates' section? so no one can disagree outside of that? amazing.

AnarchyAunt · 30/09/2008 13:18

The debating board appears to be the hun version of AIBU.

Can you imagine trying to enforce no debating on here ?

VictorianSqualor · 30/09/2008 13:33

And GOAL to VS
That should send one or two running your way Aitch

ExtraFancy · 30/09/2008 13:39

VS I am so impressed with your posts - I would have descended into insults and head-wall-banging long ago

So by their logic, I could leave my baby to sleep in a cardboard box in the garden overnight, and it'd be OK because I'm my baba's mummy and I kno wats best 4 him XXX'...

AnarchyAunt · 30/09/2008 13:44

Yes and I could've handed my 3mo DD a rollie and a can of cider 'cos she was watching us enjoy them

And my instinct told me the cider would help her off to sleep too.

VictorianSqualor · 30/09/2008 14:18

They're daft as brushes. The lot of 'em.

EF, my posts are only constructed so well 'cos there have been so many threads like this I've been on

AnarchyAunt · 30/09/2008 14:24

This is a lesson in explaining things to thick people patience for me!

(I am makemineadouble if you'd not guessed)

noolia · 30/09/2008 14:35

Well done VS and AA! Sad thing is that I fear that these people (madly early weaners) are in a majority. AA you did rather stand out as an mner!

noolia · 30/09/2008 14:36

coz u didnt rite lik ths

AnarchyAunt · 30/09/2008 14:37

Oh

Dare I ask why?

AnarchyAunt · 30/09/2008 14:38

Aha x-posts.

noolia · 30/09/2008 14:39

It was the fact that you were talking sense and using good English! No need for

HensMum · 30/09/2008 16:27

Why do these people think that having a baby makes you a bloody expert? I do think I know my baby better than anyone but that doesn't make me an expert on infant care and nutrition.
What's most scary though is the advice we get from HVs and GPs. Who should you be able to trust, healthcare professionals or a bunch of random strangers on the internet?

EachPeachPearMum · 30/09/2008 16:55

Internet, every time!
