Milk battle with my 5.5 mo. Please help!!

For the last couple of weeks, I have been having an ongoing battle with my 5.5 mo daughter. She is on average taking half her bottle (about 3-4 oz) on each feed. She will sometimes finish the bottle if I give her a 20 minute break in the middle of a feed.

I have just started giving her solids as she is reaching for everything on my plate, and is also shoving everything in her mouth she can lay her hands on! The only thing she will happily eat so far is banana baby rice - tried her on butternut squash, apple and carrot all of which she turned her nose up at.

Took her to be weighed last week and she has lost a couple of ounces, but still seems happy. Help!! Worried she isn't getting enough food, and whilst I'm not forcing food on her, she still needs to eat. Anyone else been through a similar experience? Could do with some reassurance

My LO never took 'enough' milk (well not according to the packet anyway). She's always been fairly low on the charts too. She sometimes eats a fair amount of food and sometimes isn't interested.

We found she liked anything banana or apple flavoured, but we stopped giving her that for a week so she got used to savoury flavours. She's still a bit fussy sometimes. Try not to worry too much. Have you tried giving things like batons of steamed carrot or brocolli (my LO seemed to prefer stuff she could pick up sometimes, tho we gave purees too)

I wouldn't worry about her dropping a little I think most do when they first start weaning.

Oh and when she was teething she preferred cool stuff like yoghurt.

is she teething? i have found that ds (5.5mo) really does not like to suck when teething is bad so i have to give a little often. i have also been offering him food and he is taking it so at least we are keeping up the calories and he is gaining a little weight wich is better than when he was teething and only having milk.
