I mean i'm no expert or anything, we have only been blw for a month now with dd & its been fine. How can she comment when she's never done it herself?

Hmm, surely it wouldn't be anything to do with the books & products she sells for purees would it???

Thanks for reminding us of the utterly barmy Anabel K, who, one cannpt help thinking, is mighty worried about her brand, which depends on making a ridiculous fuss about the whole biz of weaning (IMO).

She says, on choking, 'what happens when a mother goes out of the room?'....well, this isn't likely to happen, and is easily avoided. How? Um....you stay in the room?

you're supposed to stay in the room ???

I thought the whole point of BLW was so that you could dump a pile of food in front of them and go into the sitting room to MN in peace. None of that tedious sitting in front of your baby armed with a spoon watching 99% of what goes in, come back out again, therefore wasting precious hours of potential MN time.

LOL at "What if they choke on the olive in their dry martini? " That was the one thing that really worried us when we started BLW. So we spoon feed the pureed olive (mixed with a little milk) but everything else is self-fed

there was a piece in the telegraph a while back where some nutritionist (as opposed to orthodontist) said that it was a learned skill, so she's maybe parroting that back. i asked a govt dental adviser (as it happens) and he said that it wasn't learned... as i think i already knew.

Right, thats it. I've just put it into practice and given ds broccoli, sweetcorn, rice and peas and he wolfed the lot without choking. He seemed to shovel it in instinctively and was happy. Sod the mess.
Hipp food had given him the scoots.
