Really upset/worried about 8m old refusing to eat

That's it really. Getting progressively worse - eaten nothing today (had some milk - even that a battle). Refuses spoon, mouth shut, head turned, shouts, screams and whines. Wont touch finger food either. Even favourite fruit puree refused. Im finding it all very stressful and have got quite upset this eve. Why is she doing this? I am worried mealtimes are becoming anxious and stressful on both sides. Worried she isnt eating enough. She gets just about 500ml of milk most days but is that enough to thrive on? Any words of wisdom or advice greatly appreciated. Am off to chuck more unwanted homemade food away and have a cry Confused

Small success again! Was permitted to feed DD a yoghurt at lunch and some fruit purée at breakfast. She also ate some crumpets herself at both meals and a bit of chicken at lunch. Feeling more positive today and she seems to be enjoying the finger food a little more. Not counting my chickens - but thank you for the reassuring replies!

My ds1 refused robe fed almost from day one, so I just left him to it and he became a very keen, I independant eater.

Just about to start weaning ds2, he however doesn't even seem interested in food!

I've not read the whole thread, but ours eats much better if we are eating at the same time (altough its hard to eat that slowly myslef!).

Also giving him bits in different locations seems to help - I've no idea why he eats much more sitting in the kitchen, or on his play mat.
And I have in the high chair at other times of the day just for a play, or to read a book which is gradully makin it an OK place for him to relax and eat.
