high chair help!

Hi there - my DS is 5 months so I'm starting to think about weaning - well getting the kit together anyway. I have been looking at high chairs and I can't believe how big they are! How DO people cope?! I don;t think my house is small but having drawn up a table of all the options I'm finding it hard to find one small enough. I've ruled out the plastic fold up ones as they are enormous when unfolded and I have no cupboard or spare bit of wall to prop it on folded up anyway. My hoover lives behind the door in my dining room! I'm hoping to get one that pushes underneath the table to save a bit of room. So far the smallest one I can see is the Cosatti Pretzel

or the cosatti 360

any suggestions or feedback on the above? i feel like i may be missing something here like the time someone suggested storing my ironing board under the bed! thanks!

This ikea one is small and folds up so no trip hazard!

I've never tripped over the legs of our Antilop and we've had it out and in use continually since about 2008! I have, however, constantly fallen foul of the trip-trap-alike we also have for my older son - the legs that lie along the floor are very easy to stub toes on.

Antilop can go anywhere - legs come off so it goes to GPs all the time.

So many posts thank you!

Funny how the Antilop divides people in to trippers and non-trippers Grin. I think my family would trip on it as the legs are relatively thin and stick out significantly more than the seat itself so some people (partner and me!!!) will look at the main body of the chair and walk to avoid that whilst clanking in to the legs! I think this as we already have some chairs of a similar design and do this all the time! I think l

I think likelihood to trip on the leg is predicted by size around the highchair and clumsiness of the residents. I score badly for both!!

We have a Cosatto Pretzel, OP, and love it. The footprint is tiny and it is well made. We couldn't get the Tripp Trapp as we have a small round dining table. The chair has fit into a tiny corner of the room. The tray table is a bit small but plenty big enough for a baby/toddler. The customer service at Cosatto is amazing - I called to ask if I could buy a spare seat pad and the lady insisted they send it to me free!

we have stokke tripp trapp, luckily was a gift as quite expensive but its compact and feels safer than any other chair we have used. easy to clean too, you can buy seat cushion and harness both wash really well, and chair wipes down easily. we have an ikea antilop as a spare and store it in our garage with legs off, handy for taking to relatives etc.

I will second the babydan danchair- we have just got one for DD. Like a much less expensive tripp trapp. DD sits lovely in it 8.5m and it wipes down really well for my messy BLW DD as well as sitting nicely under the table.

If there is a kiddicare near you, I would recommend going to have a look- I like to see things 'in the flesh' and they had loads of different types set up around a table along with booster seats and clip ons.

I just got to work sticking her into them to try them out and could easily see this one suited her much better than any other chair we have used.

Since I posted about never tripping over the Antilop, I've tripped over it twice today.
