He wont go near plastic, but im worried that metal ones could be a bit too harsh particularly because he has some teeth coming through?

what did you all use?

I thought you could metal spoons after 6 months, but from 1-5 months, plastic is best because of their delicate gums.

Have you ever seen a weaner with a filling ??

mojomummy · 16/01/2006 23:21

I used Heinz rubber ones - they are lovely & soft & they go in the dishwasher.

have also used Tommee Tippee but prefer the heinz ones.

Kept well away from the metal ones as they are a bit hard on teeth & cold in the mouth.

DD eats fine with metal ones now though, prefering to use a 'daddy' spoon for her breakfast (that's a dessert spoon)

They sell weaning spoons in Superdrug labelled from 3 months? Shocking. Someone should complain.

absolutely who needs spoons at 3 mths
you can easily crumble a roast dinner and sling it in their bottle at that age surely...

Have you knocked out some of her teeth with s oup spoon, perhaps?
