Hi! Not been on here for ages!
Can someone explain in very simple words how the mega rayquaza raids work? And what are elite gyms?
Trying to catch one tomorrow.

As far as I know, mega rayquaza raids work the same as other megas. You can't do them on your own so you need to invite friends to raid with you whether that's in person or remotely. I think you probably need 4+ people?

And I have no idea what an elite gym is. Have always wondered.

Im just a bit on a time constraint as we’ve got plans for the afternoon.

I've just been researching the Rayquaza raids. Mostly appearing at 12pm/1pm and 5pm/6pm it seems. So me and DS will picnic in a local park where apparently there is a 'meet up'. We've not done this before so we will see!
We tried for MewToo a few months ago which ended in literal tears (DS, not me) so fingers crossed we don't have a repeat of that

Back in the day there used to be special raids that you needed to have done a raid near a certain gym to get an invite to it and they were only once on a certain date and time so you all had to be there for it then. I think those were the elite gyms? I remember doing one once standing by an area of our town called Danger Point (for a very good reason, cars have been washed away in bad weather 🙈) during a raging storm with rain pelting me from one side and waves from the sea from the other. Can't even remember what Pokémon it was for but a very nice local group member let me sit in his warm dry car in the end.

My boyfriend (non Pokemon player) hasn’t recovered yet from my Shadow MewTwo raid weekend.
I got a few in the end but it was hard work 😂

I never did a Shadow Mewtwo raid but during a special research where you could get one, I chased bloody Cliff all over my borough on a freezing day so I could finally fight Giovanni. This was when DS was having a particularly difficult time so he was thrilled I got it in the end.

We got one, phew!!

Well done. Remember to complete the events research if you can so you also get some meltan encounters (and be sure to pineapp then for double candy)

I managed to meet up with a large group nearby and did 4 raids. I caught it three times and one of them was perfect! No shiny though. But can’t ask for everything.

It's research through the Google Play store using ten play points. They are the ones that you get when you pay real world money for things in game (research or coins).

I can't believe I got this far and only just realised some Pokémon provide a lot more stardust than others. Noticed staryu seemed to be giving loads and then caught an audino and it was even more! I'm always short of stardust, so now I'm chasing all the ones which give extra.

Thanks for the invites . I go through phases and having started the game years ago partly as dss interested and I played whilst walking the pram I now have DS7 who wants to play lol 😂

I noticed the other day that lots of us appear to be evolving Charcadets and so I had an idea. When I beat gyms, I have started leaving a fully charged up psychic or ghost Pokémon in them so anyone who is trying to evolve a Charcadet can get multiple defeats at the same gym.

This weather is making it hard though.

I've got a Charcadet buddy waiting to evolve and another one to do after, but I'm so sick of looking at it I might put my Larvesta back for now as I've only got about ten candies to go.

The current raid special research is irritating me - it must be lovely to have money to burn on remote passes (or limitless free time to wander around from raid to raid) but I have neither, and I hate not being able to finish everything 😖

Fingers crossed for the weekend weather! It rained so much in London yesterday that hopefully we used all ours up 😀

I've added those who have left their codes. I've not been out the house much recently so wasn't playing so much but went out for a bit yesterday during the spheal hour and ended up eating free stovies in a pub at 10pm as we accidentally invaded dominoes night. 🤣

(For the non-Scots, stovies is like a hash type meal with meat (usually stewing steak cooked until it's falling apart but some people use corned beef), onions and potatoes. Served with oatcakes.)

And why are the only ghost Pokémon in gyms the ones I put there? I need to beat 16 more! Aaaargh.

Have you got anyone you can battle with by scanning a code? Get them to set a team of their easiest 3 ghosts and plough through. Tedious but saves being stuck for weeks.

I haven't encountered a single go rocket psychic or ghost team since having a charcadet on the go. 🤔

So has everyone been out necrozma hunting today? We walked round in circles and caught lots, my best 98% - good enough if annoying not to get the last 2%! No shinies, but I like my new shiny jangmo-o.
