Routine Sparkles Pokémon Go

New thread. No routes where I am. We're going to be at Pokémon Go Fest on 6 August. V excited.

I think it takes 8 gems to un-enrage them. And each player can only play max 5 in one raid, so needs at least 2 of you, and to keep putting gems on as soon as it allows them (there's a cooldown). They're really helpful for the 5-star shadows. For three-star if DH is with me we can usually do it without crystals anyway. With a group of 18 doing Mewtwo it was subdued before I even noticed it was enraged.

This is probably why I don't get the gems at all, most often I do raids by myself so would never be able to use enough to actually make a difference.

I normally delete them before they even get to 10, but now I'm wondering if having 3 shard pieces still takes up 3 item slots, so I'm still taking up almost the same amount of item space...

I have the day off and henna'd my hair, so was wandering round the house wearing a crappy pj top and with my hair wrapped in cling film, when I clicked on PoGo out of boredom and noticed that the gym at the end of the road, which is in a really quiet area and doesn't normally attract passing trade, had four people waiting on a raid.

It took me all of five seconds to weigh up "but I have my hair wrapped in cling film and look mad" vs "but I don't have a Tapu Bulu", and I sprinted out to the perimeter of the raid (about twenty metres).

Three minutes later I discovered why a bunch of people had suddenly turned up to a gym in the middle of nowhere...

Nice and I’m sure you won’t think twice about running out in future, whatever the attire.
I dread to think how many times my next door neighbour has seen me running out in my dressing gown. I can only reach one of my home gyms if I stop in front of their house. I know it shows up on their ring doorbell…🫣

Ooh, you have friends in exotic places. I've got one friend in Taiwan from last year's PoGo Fest but all the rest are Europe and California.

Or did you join a raid with randoms via Discord or something?

@KevinAndHerKits that time I was invited by a friend. How and when we became friends I couldn’t tell you. Either in my quest for scatterbugs or randomly met at a pogo event.
But i do also use the go raid party app. It’s great for distance raids and I can trade the mon for my distance badge. Lots of heracross raids to join on their at the moment.

DD2 just caught a shiny female combee and a shiny male combee on one walk!

Was well chuffed I caught a shiny and a 4*, both in one even better!

I don't know anyone who plays Pokemon go, is there anyway to trade or do raids without having to get a remote pass? Also can't do party's which is part of my tasks, feel like I'm missing out

@gillybean2 what is the go raid party app please and how does it work alongside the normal app?

@iwantsunshine1 Do you have the Campfire app? Not just the little thing you click on screen but the actual app? It will suggest local groups based on your location. You may find that there is a group in your area that you didn't know about. Failing that it's community day on Saturday, if you go to a local park you might be able to spot groups of people playing. You can ask them how the local community is organised (Discord, Campfire, Messenger, Whatsapp) and join later.

Hi I want to power up my top Pokemon but I just don't have enough candies and I never see any in the wild to catch. I just want to make sure I'm not missing a trick. You can have them as your buddy and earn candies that way, through catching them in the wild and you can use a yellow raspberry which increases how many candies you get. Is there any other way? Oh and also using rare candies.

Yep that's about it, except that they're pineapples not yellow raspberries .

Other ways to get candy are from raids of that type or hatching eggs.

I've been trying putting them in gyms and feeding them berries, as that's supposed to make them drop candy, but not got many that way. It's probably quicker having them as a buddy and that's still pretty slow! You do get stardust from the gym berries and that is often my limiting factor in powering up.

Mainly the Pokémon which have had community days, or a spotlight hour, have ended up being my strongest, just because they're the ones I have enough candy to power up and evolve.

Picking 1km walking pokemon to power up first is handy! My team was extremely gyarados powered when I started - such a good pokemon, it can have water attacks or dragon attacks or dark attacks. And at 1km (1/2 km when excited) it's quick to pick up a bucket of candy and refill mega energy once you've got the mega.

If you cba to install and link to Pokemon Home, you can pick up hundreds of meltans and power up a melmetal. Google for how to guides.

Another thing that's useful with candy is megas when you get them. You keep mega-evolving it until it has a max mega level and then you get +2 candy for any pokemon of the same type you catch, and a much higher chance of XL (triangle) candy too. And + candy for any 5* raid boss doesn't need to match type.

When you've found your local raiders or maybe you already have some megas from remote passes :)

Me too! I think i have all 4 of my larvesta in assorted gyms at the moment. It's slow, but it's somewhere to dump excess berries. 300 to go... Anyone evolved one & can tell me if it's worth the effort? Is it strong or anything? Wondering whether to wait for a 3* to walk, or just walk and evolve any old one for the pokedex.

I'm finding now I'm a bit further along I'm no longer short of stardust but rare candy and particularly triangle candies are still a limiting factor.

You have four Larvesta?! How did you manage that?

I only have 1.

I have 2 Larvesta but according to my Pokédex I've had 3 so I must have traded in one with bad IV. The two I still have were both hatched last year, one in June and one in September.

Oops that wasn't supposed to be a stealth larvesta brag. Just hatched lots of eggs I guess. I walk to work and wander about when waiting for kids at clubs. Actually I have 5 and all of them mediocre.
