New thread. No routes where I am. We're going to be at Pokémon Go Fest on 6 August. V excited.

I got a seventh place in a pokestop showcase and still got prizes! The same pokestops seem to be used for showcases over and over again so once you find one, keep going back!

The annoying thing is that now I'm having to keep the heaviest/tallest Pokémon as well and they are rarely the strongest so I'm having to massively increase my Pokémon storage as fast as I can. But, I suppose that ensures I have a lot of lower level Pokemon on hand for some of the lower level trainer battles which is good.

I have found the excellent throws are easier to do with curved throws. But that might be because my blasted phone screen protector stood my straight throws from actually being properly straight!!!!

I just have to take the time to let it cycle through the circle reduction a few times to see the pattern and try to throw the ball just as the tiny circle appears straight after the Pokémon 'fights back'.

For the last few days I've set myself the challenge of getting 2 a day, and I've managed more than that but boy do I have to catch a lot of Pokémon to get them.

Before you get to the end of the route (about 100 m from the end), turn off Pokémon go completely, turn it back on, go back to your route. It will take you back where you are up to automatically, but then you will see a Zygard cell once the game reloads. I read about that hack and tested it out and was so chuffed when It worked for me.

The routes only come up in a VERY local area to you (a couple of blocks at the most) so you have to keep searching for them as you move around. But I've seen them where there are quite a few pokestops in an area. If you're near a university, you can try there. I saw quite a few at a uni open day that I went to with my son! (He was too embarrassed to let me do them though....lol).

Well as expected the route I found, which I could actually drive as long as the carpark was still open at the park, has now been removed. The only other one ‘nearby’ (30mins drive from home) is about a mile walk along the river front and out along a spur, and then back again so impossible for me currently with my limited mobility due to ill health.

I’ve tried submitting a route of my own but the line which is nicely along the path or road jumps madly when I turn a corner and ends up through gardens and behind houses. No way to move it back to where the road/path actually is or back track to a point I was happy with. After 5 attempts I ended up submitting it anyway and now it’s stuck in pending and I expect it to get rejected…

Not sure how the upcoming event is going to pan out for those of us who are rural and/or disabled. The whole thing is really off putting and so ill thought out. Very frustrating. I’m just hoping the wording which implies walking may work so hopefully not just following routes turns out to be the case.

I agree, there is no way I could do the event if I lived rurally. As it is I use the trips out with my DSs when driving them to fill up my item bag with my gotcha and then find a nearby low level raid that I can do on my own and drive there to get it done. I'm now also trying to make sure I get my field research done (need to average 1 1/2 a day....lol) so will drive to a pokestop to scan it etc.

Today's Grubbin Community day is brilliant if you need to do a bunch of field research for your mega ball (although they're rubbish for excellent throws).

I went to a park with a few poke stops and was given field research tasks of catching 3 Gubbin, which was as easy as. I think I probably did more than 10 of them!!! I now only have 72 to do to finish them for the master all investigation.

Very few other Pokémon so you won't manage to do other research tasks.

And in case you hadn't got enough of collecting field research tasks yet, Paldean Adventure step 5 has complete 150. No time limit tho. Going to be another slow grind.

Ffs, I'm almost done with step 4 (apart from the 14 days pokéstop spins) and I've done everything bar 36 more raids on the Masterball one. No rest for the wicked 🤣

For anybody who might fancy it, Detective Pikachu is on iplayer! It was on BBC1 this afternoon but I didn't spot it until it was nearly finished, so I'm going to watch it now 😊

Ooh! I just caught a Zorua - it was disguised as a low level version of my Pokémon. I had to look it up as I'd never heard of it!

I made my first 4 routes today, will do some on my alts soon too if they can do it.

How many of you have got some approved?

@porridgeisbae my ds has submitted a couple on my account. He can walk where I can’t do the distance. The route swings wildly. Even when you have a nice line along a path or road, if you turn a corner it recalculates and moves from where you actually walked and what was showing before turning. I don’t know how to stop it doing that.

Anyhow we went ahead and submitted but both those and my earlier attempt a couple of weeks ago are ‘under review’….

anyone getting theirs approved immediately who can give some feedback on what type of routes seem to go through without any queries?

My postcards are going to be really boring for the next few days because I have sprained my ankle badly. No routes for me atm.

@ISaySteadyOn goodness, rest up and try to ignore the ‘out to play’ timed research til you can manage it.

I have somehow miraculously managed to complete it…! No one is more surprised than me 😂
When I saw it pop up this morning and it required a route to be completed I was sure it wasn’t going to happen. But, when I dropped ds off to his volunteering job today I thought I’d see if I could manage to walk and submit a route around the nearby park as I was feeling particularly well today.
It’s not easy holding a phone while using a mobility aid and conkers everywhere determined to get under my wheels but I managed it.
Got back to my car and had to sit and rest while filling in the blurb so hadn’t even got me or my walker back in the car at this point.

Pressed submit and then sent out a few gifts while I was failing to get up again resting . Thought I’d check the status to be sure it had gone in and thank goodness I was sitting down as it had already been published! Godsmacked doesn’t begin to describe it.
So I managed to haul myself back around what I had just submitted and was able to complete a route. Wasn’t long enough for the meters walked task so I sent ds back around after he was done at the foodbank as I could barely stand at this point.

Unfortunately this route is in our nearest ‘town’ so still a 10min drive each way from home, but on a good day I may be able to manage it again.

Ever hopeful for another quick publishing, I sent ds off around our local park to submit a route when we got home. Similar length, round a park on footpaths/across the playing fields. Pretty much the same kind of route. But that is now stuck in under review. Go figure😖

gillybean that is impressive dedication to the cause! I've also not found any reason in the routes that I had approved/'under review'. I've submitted 4, two approved within the hour, two still on hold weeks later. One of my pending ones someone else has since had a near identical route approved, so I wondered if it was being compared somewhere in the back room - but they didn't actually reject mine which is now duplicate.

I've submitted three routes; the one that was approved took virtually no time and the other two are still 'under review', one since the 7th July. I wish they'd just delete them or something.

I got most of the research done today but I have two more eggs to hatch and a bit further to walk as I've been at work and don't have anyone to do it for me. One annoying thing I found this afternoon is that my most regular route (sub fifteen minutes and starting only five minutes away) has vanished completely and I have no idea why?

Catching a shiny Entei over at the Shard has cheered me up though, and I'm now up to 28 raids 😊

Has anyone worked out how the 'reduced candy distance on routes' mechanic works? Does the distance go up faster? Or is my buddy going to chuck out candy at 2/3 of the usual number? The target number doesn't seem to go down, if it's a 20km walking distance it still says 20.

Walking distance has been behaving oddly since routes came out altogether, I keep ending up with pokemon with negative distance walked.

A bunch of my local routes have vanished too. I popped into town and was going to do one but they have all vanished apart from the longest one, which I didn't have time to do. Very annoying.

Sprained ankle improving but still not good enough to go walking. That said, I figured since I am stuck sitting here, I would get some remote raid passes. So please invite me. Even if we don't beat the boss (but we often do), the raiding with a friend is fun and morale boosting.

Also, why are there so many Feebas about? It's nice because I caught two shinies and traded one to DH but just wondering.

Feebas is one of the featured spawns in the Out To Play event - I have a shiny one too! I love a Feebas 😊

I did a route yesterday and got two Zygarde cells at the end - I don't know whether it was because of it being a slightly longer one, but that was a real plus.
