Your favourite videogames ever

Pretty obvious from my username that The Witcher 3 is up there but my top console game is Red Dead Redemption 2. It was more like playing a movie than a game. The storyline and the ending

Assassins Creed odyssey played as Kassandra too. Fab to see a really good female protagonist and the game play was great.

What's your favourite and why?

I played wow for years but then gravitated to Skyrim, ESO, AC Origins and Valhalla and Witcher 3. Liked Dragon Age too. Play ESO every day once children in bed but I still dream of the excitement of Wow😁

But of all time(going by time played) would be World of Warcraft. I started playing when I was 17 and am now 34 and still log in every day just to check bits and bobs. I met my husband and loads of friends through it and our mythic dungeon team is ranked in the top 5% in Europe.

Games I can't wait for are Outer Worlds 2, Starfield, Avowed, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf

Hmm for nostalgia purposes - the Sims, return to castle Wolfenstein, morrowind, oblivion and Skyrim

More recent, red dead redemption 2, absolutely fantastic have now played it twice through. Witcher 3, again played three times through and currently playing far cry 6 which I am enjoying but not quite the same calibre as the last two

Also love that someone mentioned jet set radio. I got jet set radio future free with my first Xbox when I was 11 and loved it but no one has ever heard of it

EverQuest, from about 2000-2004 (before everyone left for WoW). I was totally in my happy place there.

MW3 and I loved WWII.
AC Origins was probably the best AC in my opinion.
Every game of Uncharted.

I don't get the time to play since having DCs, so my choices aren't recent, however I've loved Golden Sun 1&2 on GBA, all the Zeldas up to when I stopped playing, Pikmin, the Breath Of Fire series, Mario, Mario Kart, Dungeon Keeper, and Stronghold.

I've owned consoles from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo through the years and have played most of the games mentoned on thie thread, but for me, Nintendo will win out every time.

If I could only have one gaming platform at any given time, it would be the current Nintendo console.

There is simply nothing that matches their creativity, intentiveness, wide appeal and fun of their games. Zelda and Mario are such strong franchises and there are really very few games that have been duds. They hit the mark almost every time - you could pick up pretty much any Zelda or Mario game and have a great time playing.

My favourites would be:

Zelda - Ocarina of Time, Breath of the Wild
Mario 64, Mario Galaxy, Mario Odyssey

If I include other platforms/ franchises there are too many good games to list! RPGs are my faves - loved Chrono Trigger, Golden Sun, Final Fantasy, Pokemon, Fable. So many!

My favorite game is FFXIV, I'll talk about things I like about it:

Aesthetically pleasing environment and characters.

The story seems nice even the smaller ones.

It's great for a tab-target game.

I really liked their concept of Class vs Job. Classes are much more versatile while Jobs have much more specialized.

Housing. Given the aesthetics of the game, you could really feel at home in your (or your FC's) house plus very useful features. Though you need a lot of FFXIV Gil gives Mumsnet.

The in-game community is very nice. I am fortunate enough to have joined a casual FC that goes out of its way to help members. At one point their veteran members dropped what they were doing to help me out in one Trial.

If you like this have you played the Ori games? Loved Hollow Knight too but bawled my eyes out playing both Ori's :(
