Welcome to thread 6!

I’m getting a bit ‘meh’ about it now (as I do this time of the year in RL!). I found winter last year soooo boring with everything covered in snow for three months and no exciting bugs/fish. Anyone who’s played in winter before, what do you do?

Winterfellismyhome · 15/09/2021 11:12

Same! @ChrissyPlummer ive restarted Stardew Valley instead lol

I’ve been looking at Stardew Valley @Winterfellismyhome. I might download that. I really wish we could have more than one island per switch as I’m tempted, but can’t justify the £££ for a different switch just for one game!

Winterfellismyhome · 15/09/2021 13:17

Stardew is great. Loads to do and unlock. I really enjoy it

When I started playing in March, I stupidly thought it would be a good idea to be in the southern hemisphere, so I have experienced autumn already. By June I decided to pack up and move to the Northern hemisphere. So not had a winter or spring yet. I have heard the cedar trees get lights at christmas which sounds nice. And blossom in the spring.

I find it difficult waiting for the good stuff, or just getting rubbish gifts or recipes. It makes me bored.
I was really into it a while ago, then totally lost steam for months.
Now back and enjoying it but worried I'll start to get bored because I can't get the things I want!

I feel like that sometimes too. And I felt like I was cheating if I asked people for stuff.
gab254 · 15/09/2021 19:30

Me too, but I'm also really really grateful for all the things people have given me because my island would be rubbish without it!! (Obsessed with festival garlands - happy to take any anyone wants to give me haha)

DonGray · 15/09/2021 20:32

I've been so busy trying to collect and catalogue stuff that my island is a mess and my storage is full
However I have completed the museum and I only need another 25 DIYs

gab254 · 15/09/2021 20:58

That's amazing Don!!

That’s what I was like. Got it in June 2020 and loved it. Then winter came and I couldn’t even be bothered to collect the daily miles or see if Flick or CJ were there. There’s nothing really interesting to sell anyway. I kind of started playing again in April and then my DN got a switch with AC a couple of months ago, so it’s been nice visiting each other’s islands and swapping fruits etc.

I am sick of the same crappy ‘presents’ from my residents/balloons; I’ve sold so many bloody mariarchi outfits and chef clothes! I have caught a lot more fish and bugs, only about three of each to get and I will have to wait till winter for some of them. I might start again in the spring.

Does anyone have good turnip prices today? Ours have been sitting at around 65-72 bells for a few days and don’t want them going rotten like they did last week 😂

Magissa · 16/09/2021 15:20

No I had hoped for a large spike but ended up with decreasing. I too am hoping someone has a good price.

Winterfellismyhome · 16/09/2021 15:45

Mine are 182. Not fantastic but not too bad either

OP posts:
gab254 · 16/09/2021 15:45

Mine are 59! I didn't buy any last week so I'm a bit relieved.
Does anyone know when the Mario stuff goes and we'll get new stuff?

ErmWhateverTrevor · 16/09/2021 15:53

So I dig mine up today after buying them Sunday and they have already gone rotten… what’s the trick to keep them longer??

Winterfellismyhome · 16/09/2021 16:10

Have you time traveled @ErmWhateverTrevor

OP posts:
ErmWhateverTrevor · 16/09/2021 16:26

Nope I even googled the best way to store them and most places said if you bury them in the ground outside your house they should be fine for a week. Two weeks in a row now they haven’t made it past 4 days and we spend a LOT of bells on them.

Winterfellismyhome · 16/09/2021 16:34

Oh that's weird. I usually just keep mine in my house on the floor lol

OP posts:
BubblegumLife · 16/09/2021 18:50

My turnips are only at 146

Pineappleunder · 17/09/2021 19:39

Does anybody have a good price on turnips? Mine are on 49 Hmm

Moon22 · 19/09/2021 18:12

Is anyone needing diys? I have lots which I've moved to recycling bin. I'm not sure how long they stay there, hapoy to open if anyone wants to come and take some.
I downloaded stardew after seeing so many good reviews. I gave up very quickly as I thought the graphic was bleak (compared to ACNH,) have I given up to soon, should I give it another go? What other switch games do acnh fans enjoy? I can't seem to find anything I like half as much!

Moon22 · 19/09/2021 18:22

@ErmWhateverTrevor i also keep my turnips inside my house. On kitchen floor to be specific lol

Winterfellismyhome · 19/09/2021 18:46

Definitely give Stardew another try. The graphics are part of the charm. Ive somehow managed to clock 40 hours in the last week Blush

OP posts:
ErmWhateverTrevor · 19/09/2021 19:08

@Moon22 do they last the full week? Do you literally just drop item on the floor inside?
