Sorry @Magissa, mine are just 110 at the moment. Maybe after 12 they'll improve!

Natsku · 19/03/2021 11:53

Didn't see any good prices on my travels and didn't want to go too far ahead.

Magissa · 19/03/2021 12:07

@Natsku
Are there any risks to time travel? Do you save you game first then change date to whenever...? Does it effect villagers? Eg if you are two weeks ahead you haven't spoken to them for two weeks or am I just struggling with the concept?!

Magissa · 19/03/2021 12:09

@Natsku and can you go back to before you even started?!

Natsku · 19/03/2021 12:18

Yeah you save the game first and close it, then change the date. It does affect your villagers so if you travel ahead two weeks it'll be like you ignored them for two weeks so they might be upset and someone might ask to leave, that's why I don't like to go more than a few days ahead.

Hmm I don't know if you can go back to before you started, never tried.

Natsku · 19/03/2021 12:19

Oh and weeds will grow a bit more when you time travel and if you go quite far ahead then you'll get cockroaches in your house, which you can just stamp on to kill (which seems cruel in this world...)

HoneyPea · 19/03/2021 12:29

@Magissa I'm just about to try it now for the first time, I've gone back 7 days and am now going to work my way forward. 🤞🏻 for some hybrids

Shufflebudge · 19/03/2021 12:30

What’s the benefit/ point of becoming friends with villagers....I normally just ignore them mostly!

You can change their greetings and catchphrases They will also give you items at random
tisonlymeagain · 19/03/2021 13:15

No negatives to time travel - only that if you have bought turnips and you travel back they will have rotted.

They give you gifts in return, and also eventually if you become best friends they give you a photo of themselves. Lots of people who play aim to keep villagers until they get the photo. Also different types of villager give you different DIYs when you visit their house.
Moomoolandmoomooland · 19/03/2021 13:18

I usually give my villagers presents as a way of off loading tat I don't want. They usually repay me with more tat, but the odd time I get something I want.

One or two of them craft something in their home everyday so it's a good way of picking up DIYs too.

There are miles earned for speaking to villagers too.

Sprocket asked to leave today after I built the git a bed. I made him stay.

EntropyBanana · 19/03/2021 13:23

@Moomoolandmoomooland give him a horrible outfit. Or put coprolites outside his house. The swine!

OP posts:
Moomoolandmoomooland · 19/03/2021 13:27

If he'd asked yesterday before I made the bed, I would've sent him packing Grin.

But because I made him a bed and gift wrapped it, he had to stay Grin

Pumpkinstace · 19/03/2021 14:23

Villagers teach you reactions too

Shufflebudge · 19/03/2021 15:08

That’s another I don’t understand reactions - they all run up to me and teach me them but why would I use them....maybe I’m just anti social!

With time travel if you went forward and built something then go back.....is it still there? I’m finding this concept confusing

tisonlymeagain · 19/03/2021 15:15

I never use reactions unless I am visiting someone else's island.

Yes @Shufflebudge, I have used time-travel when I wanted to speed up moving houses etc so I've gone forward to make it happen quicker, and then I've gone back again and it's all there where I wanted it.

I've also time-travelled to make the fruit on my trees grow quicker so I could sell it for bells Blush

FelicityBeedle · 19/03/2021 15:27

I often keep my switch two hours or so behind, I play late so I get time with the shops open, and I always time travelled on a Sunday to buy turnips because I’m never on in the morning!

CoffeeWithCheese · 19/03/2021 16:13

If anyone does have any amiiboable villagers they want in (or the new ones - Chai/The scary Hello Kitty Gorilla/Marty etc) - PM me and I'll happily do you them and stick them in the post to you.

Might want to avoid the scary gorilla - it's hideous.

Moomoolandmoomooland · 19/03/2021 16:15

I time travel lots when I want to order more than five things a day. I also use it if I want more wood or building materials when I'm building something. Everytime I use nook miles to go to another island to get more wood, I end up on an island with only bamboo.

FelicityBeedle · 19/03/2021 16:33

I spoke to the scary gorilla on someone’s island yesterday! They’re so scary but they were so sweet to me. I almost want them

tisonlymeagain · 19/03/2021 16:44

Does anyone use Discord and fancy setting up/joining a server on there for ACNH chat? Might make it easier for sharing dodo codes and requests.

Magissa · 19/03/2021 16:48

@tisonlymeagain yes I use discord. Good idea these threads fill up so fast!

FelicityBeedle · 19/03/2021 16:50

I do have discord but I still don’t quite understand if, willing to give it a try though

tisonlymeagain · 19/03/2021 16:50

I'm happy to set one up...I'll work on it this evening @Magissa
